People censored Galileo, daVinci, and sir issac newton too. All leaders in their field. Like magwitch.

The guy was crude but funny. The "Familia!" thread was a classic.

This was probably his best yarn. Some of his quick hitters were good, but this was a tight longer post. He always tried to walk the censorship line. Sweetie and the Vagos probably crossed it. But that thread was deleted. Epic Nausea at Applebee's is also lost to posterity. A couple other threads are now only distant memories.

Mrs, Mcghee was my favorite but I also was partial to this one: Note...I've edited it a little as it WAS pretty mean spirited but it doesn't retract from the story. The OP was a picture of a FOG's CHILD for god's sakes.

"Mon dieu! Would you look at the mug on that kid. Reminds me of a 6 month assignment I had in Kolkata, India back in the late 90s. I was drinking the local hooch which was a rice-based liquor called Yu. It tasted like it was filtered through a dirty woman's underwear. We had howler monkeys in the neighborhood. They were a mischievous and surly lot. Sometimes they'd hide up in the tree above my apartment door and shriek while raining monkey scat down on me. I started trying to lure them in by putting banana or apple slices on my window sill. A horrifically ugly black one--whom I eventually named Drek-- started taking them. Then I started putting them in bowls of Yu that I'd put just inside the aparment. Sure enough, Drek got bold enough to come right in. After a while, I'd skip the fruit part and just put out bowls of Yu. It didn't take much to get Drek drunk. He probably didn't weigh much more than a cat. I learned not to give him too much as Drek proved to be a mean drunk. Once, after 3 bowls of Yu, he whipped a can of Sterno at me and caught me in the temple. When he was just buzzed he was pleasant though. A pie-eyed grin would come over his face and we'd just chill. I recall he really liked Pearl Jam. Anyway, looking at Baby **** horrific grin brought back fond memories of Drek. Praise God he's not a girl or I suspect he'd be livin with Mrs. ***** well into his 40s.

Warm regards,
Magwitch

The one that got deleted was his spewing about how unsightly the CigarBid Customer Service ladies are. That's why it was deleted. These ladies work very hard to fix your issues. For him to unload with his brand of 'humor' was unacceptable.

Was a copy of any of the threads saved? Perhaps a reposting with the *most* offensive transgressions edited out.

Mags was certainly in a league of his own.

I think the one about meeting Cooper at Applebee's did him in. I wish someone had that one saved.

New here, never got to experience Magwitch live , but I have searched and read several of his posts.............the man had a way with words. He should use that talent. I believe anytime I see a Magwitch post topped I'm gonna have to give it a read.

I was looking for this one today but I guess it is gone now. Thought it was rather funny but I could see why Cooper may not have.

And you know where you were then,
Girls were girls and men were men,
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again,
Didn't need no welfare states
Everybody pulled his weight,
Gee our old Lasalle ran great,
Those were the days

The BEST sitcom ever!

The BEST sitcom ever!

It'd never, EVER be allowed to be made today. Actual Archie quotes:

"[Name of neighbor] just sold his house to a family of [highly-offensive racial slur starting with "S"]. The [highly-offensive racial slur starting with "C"] are movin' in!"

"Our world's comin' crumblin' down! The [highly-offensive racial slur starting with "C"] are comin'!"

(Hints - a certain suit in a deck of cards, and a shortened version of the name of a ring-tailed, masked critter who likes to raid garbage cans.)

Can you IMAGINE if anyone tried to put THAT in a sitcom today? Instant career-ender.
