Havana Club...from P.R.
claims to be the original family/original recipe.

For $20, not a bad sipper neat. Mildly sweet, velvety texture, pleasant.

Maison Leblon Reserva Especial Cachaca

in the world of Brazilian rum (cachaca) Leblon is a big name. This version is not the rough clear/white style, it is golden hued, sweeter and very smooth. Definitely drinkable neat.

Plantation Original Dark Double Aged Rum
Trinidad, double aged, and then some Jamaican blended in. Agreeable funkiness.

Tew was a pirate and stuff. this rum is coming from some dudes who have been making beer in Newport. Not a lot of info, not widely available, supposedly has that tough funk many can't handle but I happen to know you can. Only 84 proof, so I can't imagine it being that tough...

Not gonna go out of my way, but if I stumble across some, we'll both know...don't think MA is one of the three states that get any yet.

he did express anguish and blame though

Plantation Old fashioned Traditional Dark
69% abv!!! breathtaking, head snapping. A rum that stands up to being cut with water, if desired.

Jamie, is this the one you can not find? I emailed a link last week.

I found it for $26/liter, so if my math is correct...26 + shipping divided by pi=

free!

Lemme know.

Thanks Frank. There are a few outlets in Baton Rouge who have very good selections. I'll hit this weekend and see I I can find it.

Just scored a bottle for $28 and change.

No Frank, I was looking for more 2001 Jamaican but it seems Plantation is running out of the old bought stock. I saw what you were talking about and it sounds interesting, I saw it while searching for available Lost Spirits Navy rum. Since they moved to Socal their stuff is harder to source.

Drinking Mojitos using Flor De Cano 4 anejo

Last night, Papa Pilar 24 custom blend for the place I got it at (all star liquor in Hilt Ca) aged in bourbon barrels, then sherry casks, then in bourbon barrels again. As you can image, very barrel foward.....nose was like aero pipe tobacco, sweet vanilla and caramel and cavendish. The spirit itself is good not great, but the barrel aging is something I really enjoyed. I would call this a bourbon drinkers rum. Look foward to pairing this with a AF Anejo.

Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva

Bought this in December but stashed it way and kinda forgot about it. Rectified that situation tonight.
