Racist Trump Supporter
By P.J. Gladnick | January 24, 2017 | 4:30

It seems that the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Marketplace show was unable to find a racist Trump supporter. Instead, they hired an actor named Mike to portray one as you shall see. Mike's job as a racist Trump supporter was to sell a couple of White Power T-shirts along with a "Make Canada Great Again" T-shirt. It was their laughably unsubtle attempt to link Donald Trump to racism.

Around 40 seconds into the video, we are introduced to the fake news actor hired to portray a pro-Trump racist:

NARRATOR: Meet mike. He's an actor about to play the most uncomfortable role of his career.

The fake news actor then described the role he is about to play:

MIKE: Let me get into character. I'll say "make Canada great again. Worldwide white power." Things like that. Strong words. Words that I never expect to come out of my mouth but it is a role.

Key word is "role" because this is fake news.

Canadian commentator Ezra Levant of The Rebel goes into detail on the scam perpetrated by this CBC show:

Tonight I’m talking about a recent segment on CBC’s show Marketplace, about a guy selling “white power” t-shirts on a Toronto street.

Except it wasn’t real.

The CBC paid an actor, using your tax dollars, to sell racist shirts (that you also paid for).

Marketplace used to uncover scams in business, like unscrupulous contractors, and bring them to justice
. Now Marketplace is the one perpetrating scams.

And did you see how they conflate the slogan “Make Canada Great Again” with racism? That’s insane.

By the way: We at the Rebel registered that trademark a while ago, and sell “Make Canada Great Again” stuff. (Our trademark lawyer is sending the CBC a cease and desist letter.)

Canada is a great place, and so is the U.S. But that doesn’t fit the CBC’s agenda.

This segment aired on the day of Trump’s inauguration. Think about that.

Now Melanie Joly, Trudeau’s culture minister, wants a national crack-down on “fake news.”

And the first place to start a crack-down on "fake news" in Canada is on CBC's own Marketplace.

If they say he's an actor how is it fake news?

a little easier to understand when you actually watch the video... ultimately, a stupid stunt pulled by another "news organization" with a clearly left-leaning bias...

Sounds like they were going for a laugh and exaggerating what really happened at Trump campaign rallies...You would have never seen anybody pushing, hitting, spitting on or otherwise insult or threaten a minority person or anyone opposing him at a Trump rally, right?

If it did happen, how many people thought it was funny and good entertainment?

PBS used US government money to air Monty Python and other comedy programs.

Yeah, forgot the part where Monterey Python was a news arm doing investigative reports on fraud while being racist and infringing trademarks.

Thanks for setting that straight.

Did you read the purpose for that "show?" They had collected data showing that Canadians' use of racist and intolerant language in social media had increased by 600% since Trump's candidacy. They were conducting a "social experiment" to try to see if it exists in the real world. Can't argue with their journalistic intent...though you may disagree about their methodology. It prolly shined a brighter light on the subject, got more attention, than showing pix of a research analyst conducting an on-line survey or the standard "reporter in the street" asking pedesrians for their opinions...

Your OP is proof that it got more attention...knee jerk...(verb, not a noun)...or alternative fact outrage!

A lot of "business" oriented TV news shows have talked about how politics is affecting national and international markets. Hence the phrase "Trump Bump." Not sure about this, but there is a "Trump-like" phenomenon happening in Canada, with Trudeau's popularity on the wane and a wealthy billionaire being urged to oppose him in the 2018 elections. Measuring his base is market related...

Staying in traditional lanes is so...un - Twitter-like...

Saw a lot of film of Trump's rallies on U.S. business news channels...cheer-leading too...

Seriously, ZRX, Canadian market/money analysts should be attuned to the so-called Trump phenomena, looking for similar indicators (behaviors among potential voters are an indicator) in their markets. Most Wall St. analysts didn't expect Trump to win. He did, and the market reacted positively. They are just now entering their PM election cycle...

Again.......slowly.....USED TO UNCOVER SCAMS IN BUSINESS, LIKE UNSCRUPULOUS CONTRACTORS, AND BRING THEM TO JUSTICE.......probably not where one tunes in to look at national and international business trends and market reaction.

Please drink some water, it will help preventing cramps with the strenuous stretching.

I'm gonna watch reruns of Adam Corolla's show where he busts contractors tonight for the latest international impact of fake racist videos produced with government funds. Thank goodness they weren't done by the right, cuz those fake racist videos are more realerer

In the interest of being factually correct, CBC's Marketplace is, as ZRX described, not a business/equity oriented market watch show. It is a consumer protection show. I humbly apologize for promoting an alternate fact, it's not my intent to lie here...I sincerely hope that I did no harm to anyone's posterior with that error...if the will of the members is for me to resign from here, I will do so.

...but the Marketplace have done social commentary before, and specifically about racism, in a show that aired on February 26, 2016, racism in housing...

Of particular interest, their next show, a very serious piece about scams, asks, "should waitresses dress sexy?" Prolly ratings driven...

So, why the outrage now? Because they link Trump with racism...

I'm gonna have to check my cable channel guide to see if we get CBC...I might have to DVR it...
