I get mad when someone thinks I'm evil because I voted for Trump.
So I sure ain't going around thinking someone's evil because they're Muslim.

For those who feel the religion itself (not just the radical portion) is bad, I ask this:
Do you not know any Muslim people?

If you've read any of my posts on the recent bans, etc, then you know that I mostly agree with Trump's decision.
I'm a fan of profiling. Because it's mathematically or statistically more accurate. Not because I hate Muslims or whoever the demographic is.

A temporary ban isn't the end of the world.
Improved vetting is a step in the right direction.

But to disparage an entire religion?
I ain't on board.

I've met and talked with many in college. Though I can't say that I've discussed religion with any of them.

I do know I pissed a couple of them off (group project, I had two that were slacking). Then I called them out for slacking, and then the rest of them were cold to me and more or less shunned me there after.

Anyway, that's expected actually, as we are by nature pack animals, and I clearly wasn't a part of their pack.

I have argued with many Christians however, and I imagine the conversations would be similar, where they would continuously quote their book as evidence then use seemingly deductive reasoning from a non-provable or flat out invalid premise.

Oh yeah, that link to the video that I posted is posted by a pro-muslim site by presumably a muslim. Everyone in the room raised their hand when the speaker asked the question (granted it was carefully worded to lead them to the desired result). Basically, the vast majority of muslims follow the book because the book itself claims to be the literal, divine word of God, as such, to deny any of it would invalidate all of it.

I have no doubt in my mind, that given the opportunity, I could have amazing conversations with muslims... but I would have to do it in a setting where I would be sure if I offended one, I wouldn't lose my head.

After all, according to their book, I'm the definition of an infidel.

I think therein lies the difference. Christians and Jews won't want to chop your head off if you insult their religion.

You might get off with only a light stoning nowadays. Same end result though.

The Left accuses the Right of being Muslim haters. Therefore, the Left have to, at the least, be vocal about their love of the Muslim community. Doubt they really give a crap, but it's pretty simple logic really.

I think that is to simplistic of a view. Some of the left accuse the right of being Muslim haters. Some of the left accuse some of the right as being Muslim haters. Some of the left accuse none of the right as being Muslim haters. Conversely I think the some analogy works the other direction.

In my mind the firestorm has been created by the news media blowing smoke for decades. I don't want to live in a totalitarion, draconian country that takes away my liberties in the name of security. I think this has been happening here since 9/11.

I don't want a Muslim neighbor, also I don't want a Nazi neighbor. Does that make me bad? I would say that makes me me.

"Love one another as I have loved you."

I wasn't aware this only applied to what you call the left.
