Your right, which is why they cannot be trusted to report " The News " any longer.....they wouldn't recognize the truth if it crawled up their collective ASSes . Their AGENDA means everything to them....damn the people

You make that assumption with no evidence.

You like to believe it because it fits your view of the world... but what evidence do you have?

Anyone see Sen Sasse interviewed by Stephanopolous Sunday morning? I was pretty impressed. I haven't seen too many republicans publicly challenging some Trump stuff....and in a reasoned and rational way. Sad to say that it seemed rather ballsy....don't know much about Sasse, but I thought he done good on Sunday....

I particularly liked the comments towards the end about the all or nothing atmosphere today

Thumpher keeps using the same playbook, like with birtherism. Say something loudly, with conviction, and often enough, even if it is false or an outright lie, and you can get a whole bunch of people to believe you.

Trump said, "The fake media doesn't report terror incidents, it doesn't want the people to know it is a real big problem." Then the WH releases a list of terrorist incidents, all of which were reported by the so called fake media...smh...

Dude... I keep harping on it because people keep having these convictions which are not based in any way on evidence. Just because it feels right to them.

That's not approaching things rationally.

I had to listen for years to right wing people claim that FOX news must be the best because it's the biggest media company in the US... the same fox news that I then had to hear harp about every little thing obama did for another 8 years.... then suddenly the statements change to "media has been an Obama shill"...

It's ridiculous. I'm going to have to keep mocking it...

Standing at the lectern, Trump read aloud title eight, chapter 12 of U.S. Code which states: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non-immigrants, or impose on entry of aliens any restrictions may deem to be appropriate."

I listened to the court last night... the entire thing. I also listened to trump this morning. Anyone who did both realized that what Trump was focusing on was the smaller part of what is being discussed.... to the point that one of the judges actually asked Washington's AG with 4 minutes left if there was anything else he wanted to discuss and he brought it up. The judge interrupted him and said if the resolved the other two issues in his favor would this issue have any bearing any more and he said no...

My read was there are three main claims and this is the smaller of the 3

That said, I think it will continue to be stayed but ultimately Trump will win.

i listened as well

seems it depends on your paradigm and there is no doubt that this is very political

are they first citizens of countries that have been deemed to pose a risk or are they first muslims?

people against the temporary ban are reading into it an inferring based on their world view and those for it (mostly i assume at least) are reading it as stated

I was just thinking in terms of how the court and the players seemed to be focusing on it (their paradigm which is the only one that matters for the moment... but not in the long game). I immediately recognized this morning that Trump was focusing from the other direction (the one the Court seemingly was minimizing). Nothing political on my end... purely pragmatic... definitely political with Trump.

Thumpher has a hard time with facts and being honest when speaking to the American people:

Trump's Alternative facts:
1) Under Obama's executive order on immigration visa restrictions, if you were a Muslim, you got in, if you were a Christian it was impossible
2) Philadelphia murder rate is terribly increasing
3) there was serious voter fraud and 3-5 million illegals voted in the last election
4) the crowd for my inauguration was the largest ever
5) I just saved us $700M on the F-35
6) the nation's murder rate is the highest in 47 years
7) only 109 people were affected by my immigration restriction executive order
8) many terror attacks are not being reported by the media

All of these statements are not true, falsehoods, distortions, lies...can we trust our President to tell us the truth?

I would never trust a politician to tell me the truth about the future. That's a much different thing than lying to me about the present or past.

the keep your own Doctor thing was your typical political lie and unacceptable.

Saying the murder rate is the highest its been in 47 years is just a lie. It's a whole new level.

how? how is that different? how is lying to you about something they know is going to happen somehow better or less of a lie or better for you than lying to you about something you know didn't happen?

seems like the best argument you can possibly make is that lying to you about the past or present is harmless because you can know the truth for yourself... but lying to you about the outcome of a future event that you can't possibly know but they do - well sh*t, I guess I agree with you... what obama did was way worse...

One is a promise that they aren't going to fulfill.
Like when you tell your wife you're never going to get a beer belly...

The other is literally trying to control, manipulate and change the facts by which people make the decisions that drive their lives.

Sure... you know trump lied about a bunch of stuff and you "know the truth for yourself" is fine. But what about the millions who believe the cheeto? They then become a problem, especially when they vote.

so you consider an elderly person losing their trusted physician of 30 years over obamas lies to be the equivilant inconvenience factor of "getting a beer belly"? I assume you have no issue with strict voter ID laws, right? because according to your scale, they would be about as incovenient as having a grain of sand in your shoe...

I went through many many mergers when working for a for profit Managed Care Organization. we always sent a letter to the insured of the companies we bought assuring them there would be no disruption in service and they could keep their doctor. We always snickered because it was a dumb promise to those of us that had been through it a few times but our leadership sort of beleived it in the grand scheme of things (it may not be absolute)....

we never sent anything out saying 2+2=5

by the way what ever happened to the death panels? I was promised a spot on one.

if people are really that dumb, then the real idiots are the liberals who couldn't convince these morons to vote for clinton... if they're that easily manipulated by lies then both sides had an equal opportunity to grab their votes... is that your real beef victor? you think dems are idiots?

specific to the way it was said yes. if allowed to redefine it and to say well I meant to say in cowpoke county (or something of the like) no.

But more specifically dorected towards why it was said.... yes.

Fact of the matter is that to a politician, facts don't matter. They don't matter much to 98.4% of the population, either. Unfortunately for President Trump, the courts seem to think that facts, and evidence, do matter. It will be interesting to see how that relationship develops....Administration can continue to avoid anything truly factual and find other ways to undermine the courts and get their way....or they can shift to more evidentiary, and fact-based exclamations....It's going to be difficult to beat down legal challenges with threats of expensive trials, blackballing, settlements or bankruptcy filings. I kinda feel bad for whoever has to serve as White House counsel for the next few years...unenviable position

Thumpher is obsessed with winning the election, and keeps talking about it.

alternative fact: "I won the election with more electoral college votes since Ronald Reagan"

Fact: just about every president since Reagan won more electoral college votes....

He's also obsessed with vilifying the media as "the enemy of the American people" Then he gets snagged by spouting off about Sweden after watching a slanted piece on immigration crime on Fox news, the enemy of the American people. Can't make this stuff up...

Oh... but as our 13-year-old-in-chief tweeted...
"The FAKE NEWS media is trying to say that large scale immigration in Sweden is working out just beautifully. NOT!"

Yes folks... we have a president who frequently uses the sick burn "not!" In his general discourse.

What a f-ing embarrassment he is to our country.
