Here's a list of about 40 incidents since 1995 in the US involving homicides committed by suspects aligned with white supremacist groups. The list does not include the Oklahoma City bombing by McVeigh, also a white supremacist. Many of those killed were law enforcement officers.

Geez Al, I only meant since 9/11.

anyone have the body count of Americans killed here by extremists born in the seven banned countries since 9/11/birth of Homeland? Or all Muslim countries?

I am and was obviously being intentionally provocative.

It would be easy to assume I am saying ban the entire world, or even ban no one at all, but both would be incorrect.
I'm saying this specific Trump move is a test of our tolerance, and it certainly does not promote safety...as Al has helped to illustrate.

The term "White Supremacists"conjures up gut reactions, much like the term "Muslim Terrorists", but despite the sheer facts of which group has murdered many times more of us, it's the latter that is really scary to us when uttered on the news...myself included as I am just as susceptible to language controlling reality as anyone, especially since Terrorists are attached to bigger splashier news than Supremacists. Media consider Terror sexier I guess, despite the facts.

And kids going off randomly on campus are even less of a worry than Terrorists, despite their success in carnage.

MACS can attest to the fact that my wife and I were truly astonished to learn what goes into our freedom when he so generously gave us a tour of San Diego Bay and pointed out so much about our proud Navy. Even one who never gave it a thought like The Lovely Caren could not and has not stopped talking about how important supporting our military branches is to our way of life. I am not shrugging my shoulders in a lib-dream that many here imagine me to be doing.
I love my freedom, our way of life, and I do know there are groups dedicated to ending it...both here and abroad.

But this little piece of Trumpism relates more to my paragraph about language and emotion vs reality. We need real safety plans, not slogans, not cherry picking to curry gut reaction. Not tests to see how much we will cower and how much power we will allow. Vigilance, clear headed decisions, not tweets.

I say to hell with the wall, build a moat instead. Fill it with mines and crocodiles, cheaper and more effective. Beautify it with trees and grassy park lands to satisfy the eco-nazis.

Actually the move with the crops. Florida, Michigan, Texas, California...all over. Send the money back home and live in abject poverty here with multiple families living in one home...spend 5-6 years and go home. Met and talke with many of them...Strawberries are huge where I live...oranges too.

A good many still come across the old fashioned way, drug smugglers too. Think of the entertainment value.

All kidding aside Frank, migrant farm workers aren't necessarily illegal. They can get a green card and come in legally and stay for a set amount of time. Illegals are a problem and there are a LOT of them coming across the river here. We only know about the ones we catch and truthfully don't really know how many make it undetected. We need to know WHO these people are and what business they have here. Same as if WE travel to their country.

I am sure you know much more than I do about our southern border, and I'm not being a wise azz.
Thanks.

I suppose I could have chosen a less inflammatory parallel.
But as you know, the show must go on! These people have paid good money to read this stuff here, I can't always be using my safe shtick.

I'll say it tail. I don't want our country to have secure borders.

Why bother?

Let our populace be armed and deal with the issue here. If someone doesn't want to be armed that's their right and they're willing to accept the risk of not being armed (as I do).

Your personal fear that you or someone you love may hit that one in a million chance of being in the wrong place at the wrong time when something bad happens is more your problem than mine or anyone elses. Seems silly to waste so much money because you're scared. But... you believe in big government and tax and waste and all that... like a socialist. So I guess that's to be expected.

You bellied up to the bar, but you ordered the wrong drink partner.

I'm not a big fan of the travel ban, other than it shows Trump is serious about his campaign promises. Which gives me hope for bringing back American manufacturing.

So don't worry about me living in fear. Although I think it's cute that you care enough to discuss it.

I think Frank may be concerned about the price increasing on all western USA produce- which will dramatically increase if cheap farm labor is deported.

Tail... you specifically called out the Islamic religion in your post. If you weren't talking about the travel ban then you need to be more precise in your posts.

I didn't call out the Islamic religion.
I acknowledged the association between it and terror organizations.
And I'm OK with talking about the travel ban, I just chose to point out your false accusations.
How precise do you need me to be?
I can be in favor of a travel ban (for instance) without being fearful of a religion.
