I called our favorite local Mexican restaurant to see if they were participating.....I'm pleased to say they were NOT.

And staying " on topic " I didn't notice anything missing in my day to day life while the Illegals took the day off, I hope ICE took advantage of the little HOLIDAY.
I don't understand why this is so hard to understand, IF your here legally no one wants to give you a hard time or deport you ( unless a convict ) but IF your not....

GO HOME......and stay there till your ready to do it right!!!!!

Isn't ICE targeting criminals? They should be deported. Also sactuary cities that harbor illegal immigrant criminals should be penalized.

Funny thing here, a couple Mexican restaurants and food carts closed, a market closed (Mexican specialty market), some salons, and Mexican clothing stores. We had a couple of restaurants that had issues (Del Taco) with short staffing issues that posted help wanted ads on Facebook! Now hiring!

So it created jobs, and hurt primarily Mexican businesses. Stupid.

The market was the only one that bothered me, we have lots of food trucks. But it wasn't taco Tuesday so I didn't need to stop in for taco Al Pastor meat.

The only places that closed in Houston were the ultra-liberal places like torchy's tacos who don't even hire illegals but hire ungreatful millenials who look for any excuse to get out of work.

With that being said I had an amazing vuelve la vida de mariscos coctel and an excellent caldo mariscos at the Mexican seafood place yesterday.

It really goes to show that liberals don't realize the damage they're doing to their own party.

I think they hurt their situation. McDonald's has been beta testing automated ordering. If my store was closed due to yesterday's strike I would give serious consideration to automated ordering.

If you're not making hay when the sun shines then I'm gonna assume your prices are padded to make up for your laziness and I'm not gonna be a party to that....

My reaction to business that close for stupid reasons is poor at best... our local donut shop got new owners a few months ago and they closed on new years day for the first time this year...

I eat donuts 3-5 times per week... and ever since new years, I've just been making the 60 mile round trip to krispy kreme every few days...

Time after time I sit and I wait for your call
I know I'm a fool but why can I say
Whatever the price I'll pay for you, Madame Blue
Once long ago, a word from your lips and the world turned around
But somehow you've changed, you're so far away
I long for the past and dream of the days with you, Madame Blue.... Sad

I agree that this immigrant day thing is stupid but I don’t get the boycotting a local business because they were closed on a holiday thing.

Where do you do your banking?

any purveyor of donuts knows your biggest day of the week is sunday... that gives you 313 days to observe any high holiday you want, and then some... Once every seven years or so, new years comes on a sunday... if you make donuts, you bite the bullet and work anyway... at least you do if you take your business seriously...

Those on the left seem to deliberately confuse the two in an effort to confuse the public ...

I think it bears repeating ... NO one is opposed to immigrants ... but EVERYONE should be opposed to ILLEGAL ALIENS

and honestly, it only looks like a boycott... in actuality, what happened is, they closed on new years... I really wanted a donut... so I drove up to the city and ran some errands, and then went to krispy kreme... their donuts are way better than our local so that's where I go now... if our local had stayed open on new years, they'd still have my business, but only because they wouldn't have given me motivation to find better....

I work with a couple highly trained immigrants. Heck, I think at least one of them waited a while to get here. They accidentally showed up for work today. They must be the uncle Tom equivalents.
