It's very lightly topped, kinda like how Dunhill Royal Yacht is topped.
If you like Virginia/Oriental blends - and with Perique, you must try McClelland's Tudor Castle.

I've done so and it IS a good choice ... also, there are two McClelland Grand Orientals that I also really enjoy, Yenidje Supreme and Black Sea Sokhoum

3375 - 2 year-old Daughters & Ryan Three Sails in my Stanwell bent Antique. Very straightforward, British VA style, fine shag cut so it smokes smooth and even. Good stuff.
I ordered several of their blends in '14 and have had them in my rotation since. From the company who is keeping the perique tradition alive the rest of the line, so far, seems of equal quality.

Nope, I'm good. Swung back to cigars for a bit so broke a pipe out and hadn't seen what had ended up in the scraps tin in awhile. Lots of caps etc torn up on top-not bad. The few pieces of aro are buried!

I bought 1 tin and smoked a couple of bowls and ordered 4 more tins. It's ready to smoke right out of the tin. Seems a little dry to the touch but burns perfectly. The first 2 reviews at tobaccoreviews sum it up pretty well.

Think I'm gonna put Sansepolcro on my to-do list ... I read those reviews at your suggestion ... the second of the two was written by a guy who probably smokes as much in a day as most of us do in a week or more ... he's done dozens of reviews and I've noticed I've got a general agreement with most of what he says ...
Got an email today touting another of C&Ds small batch line (Speakeasy) which also sounds attractive ... a tin of each seems to be in order ... thanks

At Marcs suggestion, I bought a tin of this and it arrived today ... Marc, I must thank you for this one ... it's outstanding and is everything you said it was ... I also got some of the Speakeasy and will let you know how that one is just as soon as I try it (which you can be sure will be very soon) ...

Not for the faint of heart...
Hated it the first bowl...
Burnt meat, and 2-cycle oil came to mind...
Then it just blossomed into an upsetting love affair...
