Gurkhas are really the only brand I smoke regularly. I have cheap cigars in my Humidor that I smoke on the way to work or doing yard work

hey, some years ago, I DID smoke one I liked ... but, then I tried a second one while sober ... when you factor in the costs of sufficient libations to completely dull your senses, they're not really all that cheap after all ...

They are? Don't they usually have a MSRP of like $89.99/stick? With Ultra Super Premium cigars like them I'm glad you can usually find them on sale at 95% off.Whistle

10-20% are good or better, but you have to try 5 or 10 to find a good one. When you find a great one they discontinue that one or license someone else to make it and use the name- so it's ends up being a crappy cigar. Sure beats Rocky Patel, Victor Sinclair and Graycliff. Just don't pay attention to the MSRP .

What happened to the OP ? Not that the class of 2017 will be missed.

Gurkha, the Rodney Dangerfield of the cigar world. Never had one but I fell I need to try them now. Can't imagine how they stay in business with all the shade thrown at them on the forums. IF I where to try one can you recommend one that might make me a Gurkha fan? By that I mean, tastes great and cheap!

When left to their own devices, things generally go from bad to worse.

Yup. I tried their "Ghost". Holy crap, after many turds, finally I was smoking a GOOD Gurkha! I smoked another, still great! Wow.

Then I told my buddy about them, about 3 months later. He and I each bought one, and we smoked them together. Total crap. Apparently during those 3 months, they'd either dumbed down the blend or they'd licensed the Ghost line to some other manufacturer who began making a feces-like version.

And remember, I had tried many Gurkhas over the years (mostly CigarFest freebies, I wouldn't BUY them with actual, useful MONEY!) and they were all schitty... it took ALL THAT to find ONE decent one, then they crappified THAT one, too, shortly after I found it.

Just stay away, seriously. There's a reason the brand is a laughingstock among knowledgeable cigar guys.

Good Gurks are hard to find for $ 3 or less, but I'm not tellin'. Like I said what was good may not be good any more and my latest fairly good one needed a 6 month nap.

They were quite good when I got them about 5 years ago, but the newer ones a couple of years later were not so good.

The original Shaggy's were excellent. Use to smoke them all the time!
