frank, our friends on the right didn't comment because they prolly didn't know. Just a guess, but they may only get their news/info from Fox News, which I monitored yesterday and didn't see any coverage of Spicer clearly pulling crap outta his azz and spitting it out of his mouth until late in the day. Spicer's eye rolling upwards and sideways, and umming and awwing, while he searched his mind for a coherent thought is the exact look that public speakers are trained to avoid, and one that, I'm speculating here, Fox didn't want its viewers to see.

Fox News didn't mention this, or any of Spicer's numerous clarifications issued after his on-air gaffes about Hitler's "holocaust centers" until he finally made an on-air apology to CNN. The first mention on Fox was by a newscaster who spoke on air about the Spicer incident, after the apology. He said the Spicer issue was not on his list of news items, but since he knew it was big, he went on the air with it.

I was watching TV, and it was late in the afternoon, around 2:30-3pm, west coast time when I first saw it on Fox. Other news channels were buzzing about it when I tuned in at 11:30 am and watched sporadically, channel surfing...honestly, I didn't watch Fox continuously, and the source I used to confirm my observation and claim about Fox ignoring the story was an internet report.

I do look in on Fox occasionally, to see if they are covering the same things as CNN, NBC and local news outlets: not even close. That may explain why we are so polarized when it comes to politics. But the same advertisers use them all... explains why we like the same foods, medicines, insurance companies and cars...except if you're an O'Reilly fan...that's a rare commercial-free zone...

OK, I'll break this news first...

a member of the media...I assume a paid assassin for the Left, kindly held Spicer's hand as she walked him back and led him to where he had gaffed.

That's newsworthy in today's world.

C'mon, Frank.

true. I should release the lengthy list of when it has actually happened here...

Spicer is universally acknowledged to be a kind and good person...but he lacks the knowledge, experience, problem solving skills, quick-thinking and temperament to be a Presidential spokesperson, except he's the perfect one for Trump...

Of course it hasn't happened here. It doesn't happen anywhere in real life.
And the pregnant pause wasn't even that long. Not like we went a week with the elephant in the room.

I know the subject matter is what has drawn you to this gaff. But if you're true to your word (and I know you are) then the gaff itself is LESS newsworthy than what's happening in the world (in North Korea and the China/US relations. For instance.)

And before this incident I never heard one way or the other if Spicier was "a good guy". But even without knowing, it appeared obvious what he meant. And he was still wrong even if he said what he thought he meant to say. So he's incompetent at speaking in public. Which is his total job description. So Trump should dismiss him and move on.

It appears that we all seem to finally agree on something (for the most part). So you shouldn't want blood because of timing or a perceived delay.

overall the outrage is kind of funny as Iran writes "death to Israel" on the missiles they repeatedly test. The same Iran some thought was so trustworthy they should have a nuke. Crickets. Then some idiot SAYS something stupid and the media acts like it is the worst thing that happened to the Jews in a decade. It isn't even the worst thing that happened this week.

I am being totally honest when i say I am not insulted as if an antisemitic remark was thrown out. I've already said I don't believe this admin is antisemitic/holocaust deniers. And I receive a tremendous amount of personal support and love from the right wing nutcakes here!

I'm having difficulty clarifying that I may die waiting for right wing outrage from our membership when the righties deserve it. Yeah, many will reply if I start a deserving thread, and many will find a way to drag Bill Clinton into the discussion, but God forbid someone in Obamas coterie (right word?) said this...it would be up to 500 posts in no time.

leave it to you to dazzle me with science, my short suit.

of course the subject matter made me whip my head toward the tv when first aired, but as I analyzed it, I was less bothered by the Jew component and more concerned with the hideous attempt to use the Hitler thang as a way to market what they are selling...LeHockeyDad always spoke of the Libs banging the drum for eternal war...now you guys own the percussion section AGAIN and

crickets.

if each side does the same idiotic things, at least be quick on the draw against both instead of explaining away or deflecting it when its the righties.

real world, I agree. we should admit it when true.

Got to love the fake outrage, seems many are still smarting from their chosen one not getting elected. The guy f**ked up, acknowledged it and apologized. Where was all the rage from the left when Rice was spinning the video lie for the Benghazi attack which was swallowed hook, line and sinker by the media left. Best I recall no apology and business as usual.

I forgot, most of you did not give a s***t because it did not fit your narrative.

I'm not sure burner knows what deflection is...

He seems to think "fact" is somehow not able to also be "deflection"...

I know there was someone saying those libs all think they're smarter than conservatives... but when this is the example someone is given I wouldn't be surprised when they come to that conclusion....

I think your post was less than 24 hours after the news broke the news.
I know for me personally, I responded to your post during my first visit here after hearing about the blunder.

Let's compromise.
You text me next time you see something worthy and I'll start a thread post haste.

I miss you! In person, I know how all this would sound.

It also dawned on me this morning that I had just finished The One Man so I was already worked up about Nazis...

loved the last quarter...the first 3/4 would have also been fine if only I didn't already have a lifetime of knowledge of the realities of the concentration camps. I felt he held back in defining an important building block of "The Novel"...the setting.

In fact, I felt that he left out the hideous details (despite spending the first 300 pages around it) because the subhuman treatment and ethnic cleansing wasn't really helpful as stepping stones toward the real story being told...I guess he assumed we all know of the atrocities.

I am of the opinion that this could have been a 200 pager. But if one had read some stuff MACS linked a few months ago, and then read this book, when put together readers would have been put through an emotional wringer more so than this accomplished by itself.

Real good, not great. My heart did start pounding when the author finally allowed the antagonist to stumble into the plan and the story started to become a race to the conclusion.

I appreciated the way the ending linked to the beginning, as I had forgotten about the story teller!
