Maybe I just haven't been paying enough attention, but it seems to me the trite word for the last year or two is...

narrative

The political narrative.
The global narrative.
The ideological narrative.
The current narrative.
. . .
etc.......

Subject: Dangerous Donald Trump Narrative...

For your framing purposes, here's our narrative guide for how to talk about Trump:

Dangerous Donald Trump Lacks the Judgment or Temperament to be President

Donald Trump's recklessness would hurt our economy, diminish our standing in the world, and make our communities less safe. Trump is dangerous, and he lacks the judgment or temperament to be president.

His impending nomination is a reminder that for years the Republican Party has elevated extreme voices, using divisive campaigns that sought to exploit unfounded fears for political gain. And just like Republicans in Washington have done for years, Dangerous Donald is only looking out for himself. His plans would benefit those at the very top and would drag our country back to where we were when the last Republican president left office losing 800,000 jobs a month. The American people can't afford to let him bully his way into the Oval Office.

Dangerous Donald Trump has already damaged America's relationships across the globe. His record of denigrating women has only gotten worse throughout this campaign, at the same time that his divisive rhetoric has made our communities less safe. And his business record is riddled with embarrassing failures that make it clear the American people can't afford to let him get anywhere near the White House

Divisive and Dangerous:

RE: New video: Trump isn't trying to bring people together

Do you have a Trump/SCOTUS clip in mind that you’d prefer? Corinne has someone on call to pull and we can do it by tomorrow, I just want to make sure we’re not missing anything on SCOTUS nominations that fits the “Trump won’t unite Americans” message. If there’s no Trump on SCOTUS stuff that fits that narrative, I would recommend that the second-best option would be to cut that first one and keep the rest.

Re: Hi Angel and Tina -- running stuff by you re Clinton/Trump story in tomorrow's NYT

Hi Angel, hi Tina
Hope you're both well. Amy Chozick and I are doing a story about how the Clinton campaign and its supporters view Trump as a general election opponent and plan to run against him. The story will run in tomorrow's paper.

One part of the story deals with how Secretary Clinton, President Clinton, President Obama, and other Dems regard Trump as a potential general election opponent. I wanted to run some points by you about President Clinton, based on our reporting with allies and campaign advisers and other Dems who have spoken to him.

Smaller Group: Cool, since we don't really have a good title for this one, and we're a day late here, can I quietly post this one to Medium? I've been wanting to post a blog on Medium for a while...perhaps it's the imagery of 3 drunk bros having a pledge transcribe foreign copy that makes this one interesting.

On May 8, 2016, at 5:24 PM,

Ooh or something snarky like: Let’s Make a Deal: Trump to Offer Billionaire Tax Breaks at Working Families’ Expense

“We have to be careful when we talk about what Donald Trump says about taxes as being a ‘plan’. It’s not a plan. From a policy perspective it reads like something three drunk bros wrote on a napkin for an undergrad to turn into a Word Doc. Like his entire candidacy, his brand, his properties, his hairpiece, even the man himself…everything Trump does, says, sells, is, from now until election night a national joke. The same can and should be said of any official, consultant, operative, or, god-forbid, candidate running under the GOP party banner during this cycle. Republicans have only themselves to blame for their shattered party establishment. Frankly, the rest of us have only Republicans to blame, too, for the brave new worlds this election cycle is taking our people.” - Luis/Mark

RE: Interview request

I’m not totally opposed to the idea but it would have to be somewhat controlled. We could set up a ‘demo’ where we pretend that Trump just said a really offensive thing and then the process of clipping video and getting a release out the door…
