Just had that speyburn Frank. Tonight I'm drinking an orphan. Had a few bottles I didn't enjoy and mixed them together and now much better.

Although no longer officially on the " Bourbon Trail " we enjoyed Buffalo Trace I think most, Makers Mark is a beautiful place and Woodford is in the middle of horse country.....huge rolling estates. All pretty neat in their own way, we did a tasting @ Buffalo Trace and Four Roses.
There are a bunch of small " craft distillers " we're gonna try to visit next time around, unfortunately they're spread out across several counties....could take some time.

BenRiach 12, Speyside, Scotch.

Frank, I think you would like this one a lot. It is aged in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry butts. If there is such a beast, this is a creamy Scotch.

We visited 8 and would agree that Buffalo Trace was probably the most enjoyable overall. Did enjoy the Woodford tour from a historical stand point and their cypress vats. At Heaven Hill we opted for the tasting tour rather than the operational tour. After all, how many barrels of bourbon in storage does one need to see?

Look forward to doing it again.

I saw a bottle today which is probably gone by now and I wouldn't buy it for $50 last winter and sure as hell am not willing to buy it at $65 this year. $40 was my tap out point on ETL.

Made a run over to Destin today and made stops at the local ABC and Chan's Wine World. Inquired about Blanton's and ETL and was laughed at.

Now back at home in LA in my safe space.

I believe it may have arrived last week.

"This Maisano Hand Select Four Roses OESV Barrel Strength 115 Proof Single Barrel Bourbon is very limited as this barrel ONLY yielded 90 bottles at 10 years of age! The OESV recipe is a 20% Rye mash bill with the "V" yeast strain that imparts Delicate Fruit notes to the Bourbon. The last Maisano Hand Select Four Roses OESV Single Barrel was one of the favorite hand select barrel offerings from last year so it will go fast! Price is $60.74 + tax per 750ml bottle while they last. Enjoy bruleed candied fruit sprinkled with brown sugar in this Bourbon!"
