The calendar may say it's June, but in some parts of California, it still looks like a Winter Wonderland.

The unusually high snowfall from the barrage of storms that hit the western mountains over the winter is still on the ground -- and in some places, there's as much as eight feet of it.

"Summer Shredding" is what the Mammoth Mountain ski area in Mammoth Lakes is promoting. According to its website, the ski resort is seeing its "best spring conditions in decades ... and will be operating DAILY into August for one of our longest seasons in history."

I think what happened was all the offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico created a weather phenomenon that put a heat bubble over California that won't let the snow melt... Mellow

My favorite mountain lake in the area is still closed because of snow... and this has been the most beautiful spring/summer we've had since I've lived here...

100, 108, 106, 101... that's the weather for 6/9 from 2013-2016... expecting a high of 85 today...

If you have 30 minutes to watch this... the guy shoots holes in global warming and ethanol for gas. Nobel Laureate in physics... shows the science, and 'pseudoscience'. He's pretty funny, too, and a big advocate for nuclear power.

Sad part is, most people's minds are made up, evidence be damned.

Carbon dioxide pollution is real. My question is and has been what are the effects of that polution? MACS, that was interesting and believable. If clean energy ever becomes economically viable the world will switch to it. I do wish we would switch to natural gas and leave the middle east alone.

If you watched the entire video, he explains the effect of CO2. He doesn't believe it is causing temperature increases.

He states that from 1880 to 2013 the temperature has increased 0.3%, but the world's population has increased from 1.5 billion to 7 billion. Watch from 11 minutes to 12 minutes. He explains it, and gives the calculation.

1998 was the 'hottest year on record'. CO2 has risen slightly, and it's gotten colder.

I was not talking about CO2 causing a temperature increase. I was talking about the increase in CO2, I should have been clearer. I think CO2 polution is real, I do not know what it does. Hence the question, what is and has been the effect of that pollution. I do not think that question has been answered.

He's a world reknowned, Nobel Laureate physicist. He backed up his points with scientific facts. Did you watch the video?

I'd hate to think you discounted it completely without watching the presentation.

I did not watch, but I will.

i still think that every one of us non-experts are able to find corroborating evidence "proving" what we want to be true though...just another example of the downside of unlimited access to info without the individual background to seperate the wheat from the chaff.

and I also believe that no one here is able to say that the Paris thing requires any enforceable standards...just intent.

Full disclosure: I don't know the full content of the Paris agreement. I knew it was going to be expensive, and even the science being presented said it would only make a miniscule difference.

I can't claim to know the specifics either!
That's one reason I am wondering why there is so much defiance to our original "in", along with so many other countries...although I suspect that it's knee jerk reaction to all things Obama.

I like how he equates a rise in CO2 with "If you double nothing, you still get nothing".

But nevermind that.
It's settled science and a consensus. Didn't you hear?

We've already paid $1B of the $3B we promised.

$3 Billion may not sound like much to you, but for a nation $20T in debt it's a big deal to me.

And it's more than twice as much as the next highest contributor.

And not one of the funded programs will benefit America.

So we'll be building hydro power plants in places around the globe. So they can support infrastructure and compete with America.

It's a win-win...
