This week the best golfers will frustrate the hell out of themselves at Erin Hills GC.
Wisconsin, home of Whistling Straits and this year another beauty⛳️
The course is a links style track with thick rough, tall fescue grass and long.
They are playing the tees around 7700 yards. The local pro's played it from the tips earlier this year at 8200 yards with the winning score 81. Seems like it gives the big hitter an advantage. Players like DJ, Rory, Bubba,Jason Day,John Rohm, will be hitting long irons into most greens while the shorter hitters will be ripping 3 woods into them.
I thinks those that can shoot even par for four rounds wIll have a chance for the 🏆

Always love the US Open because you see some of the bad lies that we mortals deal with every round. That tall grass look brutal.

I went to school with the guy responsible for finding the land and largely responsible for getting Erin Hills developed. I didn't watch the Open, but they probably didn't mention him much...he's doing 35 years upstate for beating his wife to death.

Some of the favorites didn't make the cut-DJ, Rory, Scott and Day packed up Friday.
Other faltered on the weekend-Fowler, Reed, Spieth, Hoffman, Casey. And old Phil decided to bale to go to his daughters high school graduation.
Over all I was really surprised how well they played for as hard as the course was.
Next major in July over the pond⛳️
