Stinger Strike and Delayed Damage Report

I'm approaching my first anniversary on CBid. Although I've learned a lot from the many fine and interesting individuals who have crossed my path, smoked many fine cigars and have tripled my collection, I'm still a noob. Probably will be one for some time to come.

Last Friday, I received a great pack-o-cigar-goodness from our very own Stinger88. After opening up and surveying the loot, I took a picture and then sent him a quick thank-you PM. I them wrote up a damage report in a cigar-related pic post the following morning. Because it was a Saturday, I was expecting it to get approved by mods sometime on Monday.

Here it is, Wednesday morning and still no damage report from NWStogie.

I hadn't been paying attention to the fact that there have been no new pic posts for a good while now. I did see Frankj1's heartfelt damage-report write up and remember wondering why it wasn't posted with a picture. I think it could have been because Frank is not a noob and was in the know about the lack of pic posts coming through. Or he just has an aversion to photographic evidence.

So, here is what will probably be a similar post to my yet-to-be-approved-by-mods pic post.

A while ago, I had contacted Stinger to see if he'd be interested in a trade. I'd come across some old (9+ years) Fuentes and had sent them to rehab in my humidor for a few months. Over the last 11 months, I had seen a lot of trades with Stinger, and he was on my list of folks I'd like to trade with. When the Fuentes were about a week shy of getting out of rehab, I contacted Stinger to see if he'd be interested in a trade.

Stinger agreed to a fiver with the Fuentes, if they were any good. And after sampling one and declaring it delicious, I put together my end of the trade. I ended up adding some bodyguards as my way of saying thank you to a great CBid contributor.

On Friday, I received Stinger's well-packed end of the trade and it completely blew me away:

Litto Gomez (small batch?) (love these)
Por Larranga (CC!, nh)
HdM Petit Rob (CC!, nh)
H Upmann Royal Rob (CC!, nh)
Tat 7th Capa Especial (nh)
MF DPG Original Demi Tasse (Box!, nh)
AF OpusX Beli XXX (nh) (I've had a Lost City and loved it.)
CH Le Careme (I just got a box. Looking forward to having one.)
AF Best Seller (love)
DE Undercrown Flying Pig (love, nh this vitola)
Tat L'Esprit de Verite 2013 (nh)
DC Julius Caeser (nh, on my list of wants)
EPC Short Run (nh)

Thank you so much for your amazing selection and generosity. After they've rested for a bit, I look forward to working my way through these and continuing my exploration.

Was that a Maduro or Cameroon? Band looks Maduro, but color of the wrapper isn't that dark.

Here is a link to a picture of the cigars Stinger sent. They look so good, I almost feel guilty looking at the picture at work. #cigarp0rn

As you may already know, you can't copy the link in mobile CBid from phones, unfortunately. You will have to switch to the regular CBid site on your phone, then copy & paste the above link into your browser's address bar. To switch to the regular CBid site, remove "mobile/" (without the quotes) from your browser's address bar.

Heh... I'd rather err on the side of too much respect than not enough. I like how you roll, Frank.

Purty is right. Gave me some cigar wood when I was lookin' at 'em. Trying to figure out which one to smoke Saturday morning. I have about 10 hours of work to do at my computer lined up and I want to start it off right with a fine smoke.

NWStogie, I smoked one of the rehabilitated AF. (8-5-8). Oh my, that cigar was pretty damn good. It burned perfect and had a great mild flavor throughout. It was the perfect smoke for how hot it was yesterday.

Thank you!

I'm glad you liked it! I had your Le Carême the other day. Really nice smoke.
