I threw one bid up as my max, so I'm pretty sure I'll get it (if I don't I won't be sad or anything). My problem is I don't have a lot left of lower priced cigars, so I need to build that part of my stash back up.

So hoping I like them, otherwise they'll likely be going to the troops, lol.

I'm not sure if the min bid will hold, but I hope it does for you.

You both should know by now how it works.

Talk about them AFTER you have your horde. The price is only going to go up. C'mon.

I got my stash already so.........

Great medium body cigar. Well built, burns nice, pleasant flavors. Worth snagging at right price.....which is a big steal of a discount over retail if you bid right. One of few good deals left on cbid IMO.

Bought and smoked a lot of them...all through 2016, they were between 2.50-3.50 per on here.

They are very typical of La Palina...IMO, their top shelf stuff can compete with just about anything available. Anywhere. The lower-ends (black, red, classic, etc.) are pedestrian. I've never had an awful one. But never a great one, either. For some reason, they all start out good, but I'm through with them before the cigar is finished....looking towards something 'good' next. Red is no different. Good opening, mild-med....sometimes almost 'Cubanesque'. Problems begin about a third of the way through. Rare is the red that burns well throughout. Once the burn goes sideways, the flavor does, too. I'm not sure just what it is...its almost like some cigars suffer from pulling the smoke through them.....like the second-half tobacco gets 'tainted'. Most of the lower lines of La Palina seem to go that way.

On the other hand, the mid-range Diarios are consistent and very good. The higher end stuff...Goldies, Mr. Sam, Family's, etc....unbelievably good....great, even

at that price you cant go wrong but if you dont like them, 39 bad cigars take up a lot of real estate

opfth to the rescue

Thanks for the feedback. I kind of figured they are either going to be golfing/yard gars or troop fodder, after reading this my assessment hasn't changed, though I am a bit more optimistic now that I will like them.

I really haven't had too many La Palina's, I remember I did enjoy the ones I've had, but they weren't good enough to make me seek out more.
