I call them what I want. I sometimes try to stay trendy on some things. If folks here don't want sticks then fine by me. As long as they don't insist on wedge cutters I'm good. Those make cigars look phallic as hell to me... (that's weiner like for you kiddos)

I shall call you ****. Here I thought you'd like something phallic dancing around your lips and going in and out of your mouth.

I'll do what I want!

DMV, why would you even reference Cigar Aficionado as if it were a credible source on this board.

Ha. you know I could have let wedge cutters have their place, but since you keep PM'ing me all of these stories about how much fun you have milking your pony I just have horrible images in my head now.

Well the Yakuza had flavors and nuances that I never tasted from burning tobacco. lol. So it was interested more than enjoyable I guess. Like the Beast was a huge lightweight Alec Bradley Black Market. If you have a chance, I always recommend the Ancient Warrior by Gurkha, pleasant experience.

One of the problems I've noticed with Gurkha is that, even when you find one of their 5,000 sticks that's actually good, it may not STAY good.

I had a Gurkha Ghost. Excellent. Another. Excellent. Then a few months later, my buddy and I each bought and smoked one. HORRIBLE, both of them.

This happens a lot with Gurkha, it seems. Maybe they have different subcontractor factories rolling them as time goes on. Whatever the cause, I've learned to never trust that a decent Gurkha stick will STAY that way, so I avoid them (for that reason, and 50 other reasons of course).

I had the chance to visit with the Gurka rep for the Gulf Coast at an event last night and asked him about the consistency problems. He reads the forums and is very familiar with the reputation Gurka has developed. He believes that with the new company owned factory the quality issues will be addressed. Pretty straight up guy and very knowledgeable about the industry.

I've never smoked a Gurka cigar so I'm just relaying the conversation. On his recommendation I picked up a Gurkha Cellar Reserve 18 yr solera figurado and a Gurkha Heritage at the event. I'm giving them a couple of months rest.

I would smoke them right away because you don't want them tainting your good cigars.

He listened to a Gurkha rep... and bought a Gurkha. His decision making cannot be trusted, so I don't think it is safe to assume he has any 'good' cigars.

C'mon bgz... you better'n 'at!

OMG....my sides are hurting from laughing so hard Jacquemeoff!!!! Literally, tears are coming out of my eyes...the only thing that would make me laugh harder at your pathetic excuse to explain away the fact you've been ripped off blind is if Rocky Patel and the Ozinger Klan were giving you free cigars too!!!!

Don't wait the few months...a bad cigar isn't going to morph into something good later.

There isn't one person on this site worth their weight that would use the term "sticks" to describe a cigar.

Change the vernacular to meet reality!

Only idiots and bums would call them a "stick".

I do, on occasion, but I'm fat so the good doctor is right....if I manage to diet down to my worth, I'll let him know.....however, I'll still always be able to fall back on either the idiot or bum category....I'll forever be good to go with my sticks

Kind of interesting, found a place with Black Ops Bezerka on sale. No where in the description is the word "Gurka" mentioned. I wonder if this is a new marketing scheme?

I had a few good Gurkhas over the years. The Evil was one of my favorites for a while, the Yakuza is unique. But they are like a lot of companies, they expand their blends and operation too fast to try and keep up with marketing trends (looking at you R. Patel). I stopped buying them a few years ago, I mostly stay with a few brands now, AJ's Desiel and Man O' War, and Oliva or Cain, sometimes I might get some stronger Patels, like the Edge Maduros, or Super Ligero, or Sun Grown. I am sure Gurkha has some good blends still, but who want to smoke your way through all the $10 "yard-gars" to find one.

Yeah, we all made the Gurkha mistake - I bought some Centurians a couple of years ago, and although they tasted nice at first, they exploded like the jokes in the old cartoons.

But hey, if Gurkhas were good enough for Bill and Monica...
