When bidding on cbid auctions should I believe the info in the title or the subject?
I recently was a high bidder on an auction with this title "Partagas Edicion de Collecion Gran Gigante - Box of 18", but the description says"Robusto (5.0" x 52) - Natural".
What would you expect to receive from cbid for this lot?

I wouldn't bid until they get their site fixed, but I wouldnt hold my breath on that. It's been broken for nearly 6 months...

Screenshot it and send it to customer support so they can hammer it out.

I contacted customer service yesterday, and they still haven't gotten back to me after more than 24 hours. But, they changed the lot I bid on and also one that is currently active, right after I contacted them.

This is cbid's answer to my situation: http://www.cigarbid.com/...-lot-826-robusto-5-pack/
They changed the address, title, and description.

This is their answer to the other poor suckers: http://www.cigarbid.com/...-gran-gigante-box-of-18/
They changed only the title, and description.

There are at least three other people who are gonna be pretty unhappy when they thought they were getting a box of special edition Partagas, but received a fiver of yard gars.

I usually have nothing but good experiences here, but this one is just wrong.

Yes reading comprehension is important. I never said anything about the picture.
I must not have a very good screen, because I can't read the part where it says to totally disregard what the auction title says about cigar brand and amount.
You will notice this information only addresses the picture; "Read right below the picture, that is your answer"
Reread my original post. I copied and pasted exactly what was in the title and the details. Notice the details don't mention brand or count.

It's simple, never bid on something you're not sure about. PM customer service for clarification before bidding. It's easier to just walk away and wait for what you want to pop up again then it is to deal with fixing a problem after you've bid.

What I don't understand is putting out of stock stuff on the site, that simply amazes me. No problems though, they have always done me one better in replacing the non-stocked item so no real complaints. It just holds up the order for a couple of days and makes me contact them about the delay.

This.

I've been here for a few years, bought a lot of cigars in that time.

But I don't even look at the offerings anymore. It's been at least 8 months since I've bought anything here, and until it gets fixed and there's no more posts like this for a while, I'm not even window shopping.

Plenty other places that got their act together.

This^^

And, even IF they ever get their chit together.........pricing has been a bad joke for a while now......and I know it's summer.......but it's been laughable.

My point was the picture can be inaccurate. The write up is what you should go by. Though this crap seems to happen semi regularly. In my mind it is very unprofessional.

I agree Speyside, People like me have enough issues as it is. Being partially blind, Dyslexic, not to mention other issues due to my stroke. When both the photo and description are "iffy" and lots of confusion on my part to boot... Yep my happy ass will not hesitate to make a phone call. My thinking is if they have time to NOT make sure its correct. I have all the time in the world to waste theirs with a phone call even if I am not intending to purchase lol. The wife says I tend to horse and I can be a prick but hey... It gives me something to do lol... I know we all make mistakes but sometimes especially when it comes to a professional business a big DERP is in order.

Ignoring the pic is easy enough but they often get the title wrong and so if you do search and something pops up you want, I would think the title SHOULD trump the description but that's not clear.....and of course the description trumps the picture as always.

Cigarbid got back to me and made things fair in regards to the lot being wrong. Hey, I have always wanted to be a 'Platinum Club' member.

However, the problem still persist and I see at least one more lot that is missing details. If the details don't spell out the exact cigar brand and line along with the amount, pass on the mystery lot!
Hopefully cbid gets their Pakistani IT guys back and the problem can be resolved.

So did you end up with the lot listed in the title or the cigars in the photo with description?

Padrons are back! Illusiones are back!..............well maybe not but if so, no deal here...............This is an interesting one since I have never seen the description as schizo as this before.....................http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/lot/2609468/illusione-cg4-white-horse-corona-gorda-5-cigars/
