I haven't been active much due to life in general but figured I'd put this out there and see how it goes.



OK guys no one else has started one that I'm aware of so I'm throwing the thread out to see who might be interested. The rules are below and just as Anthony has done in the past I just copied his rules from before. If you want in just post in the thread and after we get the final number of players I'll post the payout scale. Season starts in 3 weeks so jump on in if you're interested. The last few years have been fun and interesting and I'm looking forward to it again!


Rules:

1) Ante is 10 cigars.

2) You have up until 5 minutes prior to the beginning of each game to make your selection.

3) Once the contest is over and shooting solutions are plotted, please endeavor to complete your fire control missions in a timely manor. Two weeks should be more than sufficient.

4) If you are interested, post in the thread first( ie: "IN") , the send me a PM. Include your email address. I'll send you the Group ID and password.




Ante Guidelines.

1) Absolutely no dog turds. One would expect to receive quality smokes. Therefore, one should be willing to risk the same. No five or ten packs of $2-$3 cigars. Though one may enjoy them, most others would consider them yard gars at best. Likewise, a $50 Gurkha that retails for $3 is not considered a good cigar.

2) Keep in mind that in the past most players included at least a few aged premiums therefore it is only fair that all others endeavor to risk something similar.

3) On the other hand, it is understood that not everyone has a stash of aged super premiums. But, there should be ample time between now and the end of the contest to pick up a selection of good, though not necessarily aged cigars.



To play you have to meet one of the following:

1) Been a Cbid member for at least 6 months and have 3 verifiable completed trades, or have a vet vouche for you.

2) If you don't meet 1) then PM me. We can arrange for you to send me your ante and 1 extra stick to cover postage.

I am most likely in but is there any chance of doing the pickems to include other games outside of the top 25. I think Anthony had done it before and I felt like it was a wider variety of picks from everyone instead of having like 6 or 7 games where everyone picks the same team.

Shaun I've got it set to include these settings ............. let me know if you're good with that brother!

Choose any combination of the following sets of games. Games before Friday will not be included for any week. You cannot change this setting once games for your start week have begun.
x Yahoo default games
The most interesting games of the week, selected by Yahoo editors. Around 20 games per week.
x AP Top 25 games
Any games involving teams ranked in the Top 25 of the weekly AP Poll. The number of games varies weekly, usually between 15-20 games

I'm going to try to kick it up a notch this season.
If you guys have any suggestions as for as "usable awards" feel free to recommend something.

I've sent the login info to you guys , we'll go ahead and plan on moving forward even if we don't get anymore players.
Once we get a final headcount on players then we'll figure out the final payout but hopefully a few more join in.

I'll play...I'm gonna do some traveling a few weeks this Fall ...hope I can find a computer and internet access to make the picks...maybe I can use abrignac's auto-picks...

Cool we have 8 players so far.

Al, don't count on my picks. I doubt I'll have as much time to consider my picks as I had in the past. No more 12 hour shifts passing time researching my picks.

What about illinichaser and WHizzy? Shoot them a pm I'm guessing they would be up for it. They played in all of the Pick'ems before this one.

This could be a great season of college football, with quite a few top-ranked teams going head to head in the first few weeks...too bad Oregon is going through a rough patch...they (and Stanford) have carried the PAC 12 flag after Pete Carroll jumped the Trojan ship...SC may be back...

Florida was missing several key players.

That being said, Michigan has some pretty good talent and as much as I hate to admit it JH knows how to win some games. Question with them will be all about discipline to maintain focus week to week. I'm not sure they can. . . (and for all that is holy, please trash those uniforms!!!!!)

As far as missing key players, I didn't see any offensive linemen in the 2nd half. I thought it was a penalty to break the huddle 5 men short.....every play???

Trust me you'll have a chance to make them up...... this format with a mix of top 25 and other random games should provide for a lot of moving ground.

Just remember all the games aren't just on Saturday....... games today and Monday as well.
But Friday games are pretty common, I think we've all gotten busy before and forgot about the Friday night games lol
