I have been browsing the forum and have found some posts hating on the Obsidian and Obsidian White noise? I have had at least 3 to 4 boxes over the last two years and have nothing but good things to say about them. In fact, have given them away to some guys that tend to smoke dog rockets and the loved them(I know, not saying much). I myself like to add them into my rotation when I have a box. Just bought a box actually last week, should be coming this week.

But back to the question. Obsidian White Noise. Fan or Hate & why. I am in the fan category. fog

I love the normal Obsidian (black). Pretty much my go to cigar, although I am getting a bit low on them. As for the White Noise, also bought a box of these and thought they were very average. Not too shabby for the price but nothing overly fantastic.

Well, I had never tried one till just now. Also, keep in mind I am very new to the cigar world so my opinion may be mute. I had ordered some of the Obsidian Whites when first I found Cbid here just a month or so back. They have been sitting in my humidor ever since. I can say for sure I am not a fan. It might be because I have found I love full flavor cigars. To me it tasted as if I was smoking a toilet paper roll. There was slight pepper but not much else besides what reminded me of burning cardboard. Also at about the 2/3 range I started getting that ammonia taste. I might need to dry box them for a bit to see if I can get rid of it but not to sure it is going to help it much. Again could just be my luck. By the time I hit the final 3rd it was so spongy I just called it quits. Now my wife came through while I was ashing this thing and she seen I was making funny faces and asked whats wrong lol. I told her I just cant quite figure this thing out it taste different that what I was expecting. Now she does not smoke anything at all but she has picked up on aromas of what I smoke. She came over and took a whiff and with out me saying nothing she said "That smells very bland and flat almost like cardboard" lmaooooooooooooo. So it confirmed in my head what I was thinking. Not sure what I will do with the rest of these but I don't think I will be setting fire to them. Well, not unless I get a craving for toilet paper roll. Anxious

@Ewok126 - what size were you smoking? Sizes I have had over the last two years were the Sixty Gordo - 6x60 and the Belicose 6x52. I also like medium to full, but generally have a medium first. This is a bit medium mild in my tastes, but I wonder if new batches are showing up as bad? I will be able to chime in after this next batch arrives this week. Maybe I will jointhe hate wagon for the new batch.

Toro is what I have. The Obsidian black was ok for me but the white I just didn't like. Like I said though it was my first one I have tried. I will give a few more a try as the week goes by to see if it was just the one.

Smoked both a few years back...........which means.....irrelevant to today's versions.
The black was terrible.........the white was meh.....
But if you like them.....smoke em.......who knows, maybe they are better now.......but I'm not going to buy.

Yard gar at best. But I can think of a couple others at that price point that I would reach for first.

Obsidian black - flame resistant wrapper.
Obsidian white - extremely thin wrapper that blows up when exposed to heat.

No, thank you.

Gotta go along with Josh. Smoked them both - no desire to smoke them again. Wouldn't be surprised if I still have one or two buried somewhere.

Hate, obsidian white noise a puff ball. Regular obsidian ok, but others far better for the price. Even had one with 3 years of age and it was still meh.

What is your definition of cheap? I just got a box for around $27 and the rubustos are a pretty good smoke.

#21^^^

$27 is on the high end of cheap....
Compared to years ago...

2012?-15 I was getting samplers for $10-19
But only 10 in a box

I'd say $27 is a great price in today's bidding scene on here.

ya, they are a good, smooth, average Habano wrapped smoke. For $2per they are a solid buy. anyone says different they are just being an ass or are a moron with a palate.

not a fan ... bought too damn many in the process of learning that I simply don't like 'em ... finally, gave away all I had just to be rid of them. ....

I have to say... the White noise Rubustos are my go to of the line, I also have the extra toros now, I like them, but think the WN Robustos are the sweet spot!
