The kind that is done on the shooting range.

Went to the local outdoor shooting range yesterday. I had an AK and an AR with new optics I had to sight in. The AR was a newly built .300 BO that I wanted to test to see what ammunition it likes. It turned out to like them all, even powder coated lead bullet rounds.

The Therapy part, it's always relaxing to shoot because you need to concentrate and that eliminates all the daily nonsense. I met a few new friends, a retired guy from Long Island, NY who moved to the Augusta, Ga and loves it here. His son was stationed here, Fort Gordon, while in the Army. The Father had visited his sone here andliked it so well he moved here after retiring. Another retired guy who worked at the same facility I did was shooting at the same time. We all told a few jokes, told a few stories and how we ended up here. The third guy was a local.

Later in the day some young fellow arrived after getting off work. Everyone seems to get along while shooting, even if they are not doing well or have problems with their firearm. People are always willing to help or share tools and equipment.

It was a great day and very therapeutic.

I spreaded some gravel today... kinda like spreading boolits.

I find plinking is very liberating, and therapeutic to Gene.

I really miss casting boolits and reloading. You have to stay so focused. Good for my ADHD.

When I lived in Georgia I had a membership to s range there in Norcross. My office was closing enough. I'd go squeeze of a few on my lunch break.

I always thought when I mive back to the country I would shoot everyday off my porch..... I don't.

Enjoy watching the wildlife too much.

Shooting is a great way to spend some time relaxing. I couldn't agree with you more.

My Dad, son and I went last Saturday My father beat us down on the pistol range.
My 14 yr old son (Ocho) destroyed me on the sporting clays course.

My only chance of redemption was the long gun range. Unfortunately, it was closed due to all the rain we have had.

I went home the loser, but man I had fun!

Herfing I agree, relaxing and therapeutic.

I shoot at a couple of unsupervised ranges occasionally and it's the most fun I have shooting.

Hope to take my brother to one when I visit him next week near ATL.

A day at the range is always fun. A few weeks back 2 friends and I went. We'd shoot 5 shot groups. Whoever lost each group had to buy a round of margaritas. Had a great time then we topped it off sitting outside at a local Mexican restaurant drinking and eating.

I have been four times in the past ten months and had forgotten how much fun it was just to burn powder and through lead.

Prior to that I had not gone other than to check the deer rifle in the past ten years or so.

I loved shooting back in the day. Shooting 1k yd comps was my thing. I sure do miss it. It was fun to compete against folks but the tight knit of the group was what I really miss the most. Going up against folks like Bill Shehane who makes Shehane Tracker Stocks and other world record holders, it was a blast for sure

I had a great day today (for a change). Went to the range & shot off 150 rounds, cleaned my corvette & then took it out for a 2 hour ride. Nothing like driving an old sports car with 435 HP.
