Difference between Punch Pita & Punch Bareknuckle Pita?

Just started smoking cigars late in life (never smoked cigarettes), so haven't gained all the aromatic and taste nuances. However, I've gained enjoyment smoking Punch Bareknuckle Pitas. I've also tried the Punch Pita. The Bareknuckle seems to have more "flavor", while I really don't care for the Punch Pita, as it seems rather bland in comparison.

Am I missing something? Is there some easy to understand what the "Bareknuckle" features are compared to the Punch Pita?

My second favorites, so far, are the 5 Vegas series 'A' and the Punch London Club Maduro.

Just curious and want to learn the basics.

Thanks!

Hi Big, As I am new to it as well this will be like the blind leading the blind but first I would guess it is as simple as what makes up each. The Barekunckle has the Habano wraper so Habano tobacco wrapper is darker in color, has a much spicier flavor, a richer aroma, The Punch Pita has the Connecticut which is ,in my opinion, milder plus the binder in the punch pita is also Connecticut. I could not find what binder is used in the Barekunckle. Now as I said I am still very new to the cigar world as well and I dont know shit in comparison to the guys here so maybe one of them can follow up if they wish.Anxious

Barekunckle Pita
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano – Sun Grown
Binder: N/A I could not find what binder is used in the Bareknuncle
Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan

Punch Pita
Wrapper,Connecticut Broadleaf / Ecuador Sumatra
Binder;Connecticut Broadleaf
Filler,Dominican Republic / Honduras / Nicaragua

Ewok,

Connecticut shade is much milder than Connecticut broadleaf. Broadleaf is a more rich tobacco and is often found on maduro cigars bc the thicker leaf can withstand the maduro curing process. Punch maduro is Connecticut broadleaf, the Punch natural has a Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. "Pita" is the size of the cigar, which is really just a toro size, 6.125x50.

That's about as much as I know... and maybe you already knew that.

I'm learning all of the time too... Maduro isnt a leaf, it's a process; while manufacturers often use Connecticut Broadleaf for the maduro curing process, many other types of leaves are used as well. I really like the San Andreas (maduro cured) wrapper used on Cain Maduro by Oliva. The MB3 place frequently has sales on boxes of them. Pretty good smoke imo. They also have 6 packs of them and they are reasonably priced but not quite as discounted as when they boxes go on sale.

And for the original post, I haven't had Punch Barenuckle, but I figure that you like a stronger profile in a cigar. The regular Punch is listed as medium but the Punch Barenuckle is listed as full.

I'm sure you will be "welcomed" soon.

I just recently got to attend an Oliva event I acquired a few of the Cain. I have yet to get to set fire to it just yet but I am looking very forward to it. I myself love the more full flavored stogies. On occasion I will go with a mild smoke say early morning. Something to ease into the more full flavors through out the day lol. Drool

Welcome! So much of this post made me think of you and your wife. Most of it stemming from your name. You know what kind of guy tries to be a Big man . . . I'm sure the little missus is familiar with your special blend of "punching" and "bareknuckles."

But maybe I'm wrong, and it's a typo? Did you mean Bag -- like the kind she has to wear over her head? If so, do you mind if we call you Bag?

Yep! "Bag" would have been better. Most people tell me I'm very becoming... I'm becoming more ugly everyday!

Thanks for the "welcome", reminder and suggestion! Lol

not trying to mess with ya, but consider that there is a difference between full flavor and full strength.

FYI, Habano isn't a varietal of tobacco. It's a made up fancy sounding term to imply that the tobacco is derived from a Cuban seed tobacco at some point. Unfortunately, there is no definition as to when, so something that has been selectively breed in, say, Nicaragua for 12 generations of plants, is still being called "Habano" because the original seed was a Cuban varietal.

Point being, don't get hung up on manufacturer descriptions and ingredient lists. They are mostly bullshit.
