You'll be glad you did it when you regain *most* of the flexibility you had before the tears

I had right knee meniscectomy 30 years ago. Was way better post-surg for years and years.

My orthopod told me "you're going to get arthritis in that knee, but don't blame me. You'd get arthritis anyway." He was right. I'll have TKR someday, but I can still hike, golf, drink beer and smoke cigars, so that can wait.

Yep. I'm in the same boat. The surgeon says I am not a candidate for TKR but probably will get there some day unless I get hit by a beer truck first.

LOL. Your knees will still be able to respond to your cat-like reflexes.

Played full round of golf 15 days after having right knee scoped first time for meniscus tear.

The round of golf was relatively pain free compared to what the therapist was doing to the knee three times a week.

I hear that. I'm walking 2 miles without pain but the PT is NOT pain free.

It is like they don't want to be on the Christmas card list.

It's been over two weeks since the surgery. Been doing daily PT and going for 2-3 mile fast walks. I ran one mile today as a test. The pain is gone but the knee feels like a loose hinge.

Then there is hope this will tighten up over time? There is a slight "clunk" with each step right now.

Hope you are healing up as well.

After I had mine replaced it was kind of "clunky",almost mechanical, for about 8-10 months or so.It's better now,but sometimes even now-had knee replaced in 2008-it can feel clunky at times.......Still 100% better than it used to be before surgeryfog

My lovely bride is going in for hers @ the end of the month. This thread will be somewhat helpful just as far as gauging what to expect etc. Thanks

Paul,

If it is a replacement, don't let her look online and see what they will be doing to her. If she does she probably will back out.

I almost did.
