I was digging in one of my humidors and found an Indian Tabac maduro Churchill I think it originally came in a tube. Anyway it was my first CBID purchase back in 2002-03 timeframe. Figure I'll fire it up and see how it held up after all these years. Does anyone else remember their first purchase on cbid or even still have any of the sticks?

My first purchase was the Drew Estate MEDUSA.
I won all 5 lots offered, and got them for $3 each !
Now THOSE were the good old days !

Long gone are the Indian Tobacc cigars. Now we can bid on Panama Jack Diaquiri flavored cigars. Delicious and Refreshing😝

My first was a Puros Indios... I thought they were good at the time. I sent some to my vet in the noob vet trade plus a bunch of other crap. My apologies Dave97420, aka Dave Zippy (head hang low)...

That said, anyone know the where about's of Dave... he's in Oregon.... big Oregon Ducks football fan. FOGS should remember him.

I would have to research that question...
Even with my superior
"Project BLACKJACK" memory...

I'd guess... I.T. SUPER Fuertes or some kind of seconds? Perhaps Perdomo MISTAKES 2nds maduro
OR Fonsecas? Maybe some candelas for my NEIGHBOR?

Sadly I must admit Puros Indios was also my 1st Cbid purchase followed by a lot of different "bargain" cigars. Fortunately a kind vet took me under his wing and led me down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. Thank you Gandalf.

As for Zippy Dave, he's still in Oregon and doing fine, I would see him yearly at KNOF's annual Holiday Open House in the bay area. Along with SteveS (he led me to this place), Slimboli, TG, Beatdragon, Wyteyes and others.

Left the Bay area 2 years ago for SC, miss those Holiday Open Houses, Keith put on a great gathering of family and friends.

Haven't seen KNOF on the boards for years. Now and again I see Gan at some Masshole herfs. My car was in the shop so I missed him this year at the annual Hyannis Herf (Cape Cod area) that Basic Patrick puts on...

I've burned through a lot of IT Super Fuentes over the years. I didn't think they were a bad smoke. I probably still have a handful in one of my totes. Might have to go tuper diving this weekend.

My first box was Oliva Os. Followed by several Man o War and Diesel stuff, some Indian tobac. A few bundle stuff I can't remember.

I kinda feel bad for some of the stuff I shared with others, had lots of trash in my humidor but I didn't know better. At that time everything tasted the same to me anyway.

Summer, 2011.....first cbid purchase

E.P. Carrillo Predelictos (pyramid) - 5pk - $19
Joya de Nic Ant Dk Cor El Martillo - SINGLES - $3/ea
Padilla Miami Lancero - 5-PACK - $17
La Herencia Cubana Salomon-bdl - 5-PACK - $9

Those Padilla Miami Lanceros were pretty good.
The Predelictos were inconsistent.
The El Martillos put hair on your chest, and back, and buttocks, between your toes, etc.
The LHC was a decent yard gar for under $2

Haven't smoked/purchased any of these in years.

Yeah . . . I'm guilty of this as well, Dan.

After I was enlightened to the ways of the BOTL, I tried to atone for those early year blunders.

No, all of those fine Montecristo Cigare Des Artes - De La Croix are all gone. One of the finest non-Cuban cigars I really enjoyed. 1999 was a really good year.

Believe it or not, I was the sole cigar smoker at KNofs Christmas party last year ... no Zippy, no Slim, no Gerbil, no Thurson, no ANY other ... I had a prime seat by the fire, and it was still a great party, but sure a quiet one out in the cigar corner of the yard ...

Jason! How the hell are ya? Back in this neck of the woods?

I don't recall my first cbid win, probably Felipe Gregorio or some other trash that Sven said was awesome, had a high MSRP but smoked like ****.... but there were some Indian Tabac's in the earliest days. I do recall that my first box bid win was CI Legends Purple....I still bid on and smoke those...had one yesterday while fishing as a matter of fact

Apparently Slim has quit and I have all but quit, one or two a month or whenever my son-in-law and I golf.

And I suppose Keith was so busy hosting he didn't have a chance to burn one with you. In any case, always a great party.

Say hi to Ann.

Indian Tabac Ltd Reserve (good at first, then went to s#it just like every other Rocky Patel line)

The year was 2009.
