it's pretty well known that victims of sexual assault, whether underage or over the age of consent, commonly suffer stuff the rest of us think impossible when victimized.
Shame, guilt, etc. And so many head straight home and cry in the shower, which washes away the best evidence in many cases.
Many victims are selected by crafty sexual deviants who shop around for prey likely to feel ashamed after the (f)act, and are therefore less likely to step up with courage and accuse right away.
Some eventually kill themselves. some eventually rally enough strength (therapy?) to speak up, some become liberated after seeing others speak up about the same predator...yup, even years later.
It's more likely that victims of random sexual attacks, stuff like a guy in the park who jumps out with a knife, will fight back and/or go straight to the police with descriptions and DNA evidence. But those rapists aren't clever relationship/trust builders. They are psychos that act on impulses that control them, sudden violent sex is what they crave, key word violence. They are not setting up the target. They hit randomly.
Coincidence that the juvenile victims are often related to or are family friends of the deviant? Nope.
