was wondering if any of you guys have experience with this shotgun, looking to keep my 500 as a dedicated slug gun and looking to add this for upland game and maybe waterfowl some day. currently can get one for 300 at a local by me. worth it, or wait for something better?

what do the wise FOG hunters think

I bought one when they first came out. We all did. Synthetic camo stocks with 24 or 26 inch bbls. The 12 ga. 3 1/2 inch shells made the old 10 gauges obsolete overnight. We used them for Canadian geese mainly. When you shoot steelshot at big tough geese you want as much shot as possible. I just sold mine since I stopped hunting for the most part but it's a fine gun at a fair price point. Ya can't beat a pump gun for reliability. Check gunbroker.com first before you commit to buy. Good luck.

I also bought one when they first came out. Used it for all my hunting from about 97 to 2005. Dependable. Managed recoil okay. And those 3 1/2 shells could kill the heck out of geese. Got a Benelli Nova in 2005, and used that up until around 2015 or so. It was better.

Swapped out the barrel on the Mossberg for a 24 incher, put on a pistol grip/collapsible buttstock and a red dot sight and now use it for turkeys and home defense. Works great to this day.

I have shot them but do not own one. A couple family members use them and don't seem too sad about it.

At that price it's hard to go wrong.

My son has one but he will always reach for one of my spare O/U's regardless of the game. That Mossberg kicks like a bay mule

CZ Canvasback.........extractors only for the duck blind
Lanber .....excellent Spanish made lightweight for upland game
Browning Citori ........looks pretty in the gun case.I'll take either of the above ....1/3 to 1/2 the cost and both handle better IMHO.
