Yeah... it isn't a behemoth 800 pound specimen, like the ones they catch on "Wicked Tuna", but it's my first tuna on my boat.

I landed that fish, with a gaff shot from my brother Ryan, first thing in the morning. First fish of the day... and it made my whole week.

Great picture...
Great fish...

Now ..an honest question??

The news has suppressed all the bad information coming from Japan about the Fookashima nuclear
DISASTER...especially here in the eastern U.S....
Since that disaster , I buy only cod, haddock, and Atlantic shellfish..

What do you personally know about the dock area where your boat is, the beaches you see in your area, the fishermen you talk to, the local news reports in your hometown???

Any large Fishkills washing ashore?

Any TV stories about people with GEIGER COUNTERS
MEASURING RADIATION LEVELS IN fish samples at docks , fish markets or in grocery stores?..

Many YOUTUBE VIDEOS on the entire subject...
But what have you personally witnessed or actually
Seen with your own eyes or heard someone talk about who knows REAL FACTS?

Before everyone scoffs at Mr. Jones...

http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/02/08/unimaginable-levels-radiation-****ushima-pacific-ocean-leaks

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiation_effects_from_the_Fukushima_Daiichi_nuclear_disaster

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-10/officials-admit-radioactive-fish-us-west-coast-have-disturbing-fingerprint-****ushima

With all the radioactive contamination going into the water it's the top predators, like tuna and salmon etc. that are going to be most affected. And these top predators are what we like to eat.

Strontium 90 is another good one to have on the dinner plate (it's a "bone seeker") and it hasn't been talked about much.

This is not something that is going to just "go away". Instead it is going to persist and build up in the environment.
As stated in the above links, they are dumping 300 tons of contaminated waste water every day.
What they have no way of measuring is how much highly radioactive water is actually leaking into the Pacific.
Only time will tell, but it's definitely something to watch out for.

Imo, if you have Bluefin tuna, you could taste a difference but for sure if you try Chutoro or Otoro. Good Otoro will melt in your mouth. Same with good yellowtail (...Hamachi / Buri...). Can't afford / find Otoro all the time so Hamachi is my next go-to.

yes, it was hamachi.
I prefer it to deep red tuna (which I do like seared and raw in the middle in large fillets) and avoid white tuna like the plague.

Have yet to see otoro offered but will not hesitate if I do.
