LOLOLOLO (just to piss of Frank)

Have a meal before you smoke that La Imperiosa they are very tasty but very full. The 858 Rosado is from the last release back in 2012 IIRC.

I was just getting ready to ask you what that 858 was. I love the 858's, especially the SG, but i had never seen an 858 with a red foot band before, and had no luck finding one online. I am SO looking forward to smoking it, even more so now that I know what it is.

How do the 858 Rosados compare to the Mag 44s (or other sizes)?

IMHO an aged 858 Rosado is an exquisite, delicate medium smoke, and is difficult to compare to a Cuban Mag44. Don't think they are even in the same class in flavor profiles. Don't care for the Mag44's, and will smoke an aged Fuente 858 Rosodo any day over a Mag44. For me the 858 Rosados pairs nicely with a well chosen small-batch bourbon.

I thought all 858 sungrown had the cedar and footband. That all i've ever had. The fuente mag 44 is tbe rosado and i go back and forth on these. The rosado is a bit creamier.

The first 858 Rosado was released in a 50 cab in 2003 but was very limited. Most retailers would only sell two per customer and only Fuente's best retailers ever got any at all. The rosado for those came from a special plot Fuente purchased from the Oliva family. There have been only two releases of this cigar since that time IIRC in boxes of 20.

Carl is correct that there is little to compare between the 858 Rosado and Magnum R44. I love them both for different reasons.

Yes, the 858 SGs have a cedar sleeve AND a black footband.
GREAT cigar, and not too expensive.
