All preps have been made. It's going into a hot, peanut oil bath in about an hour. My boy and 3 of his friends are invading at 2pm PST.

I told his ass to bring his own beer, cause they ain't drinking my Ayinger.

Not so... I have a round drip pan that is around 2.5 feet in diameter. That sits on top of a large, flattened box. The only mess, after I pour the cooled oil back into the container (minus the gunk in the bottom) is scouring that big pot.

I usually pour a bag or two of cheap kitty litter in a 10’ diameter circle around the pot. Sweep it up after I’m finished and toss it. No mess at all.

Cheers to waldo!!! Hope next Thanksgiving exceeds all expectations for you!

Oven roasted, only put herbs and veggies for aromatic seasonings inside, not stuffed...

Only doing a split turkey breast. Just the woman and me and father...

That's pretty much the way I did it. Turkey and ham over my family's house, slow cooked prime rib over my wife's family house. And a little bit of roughage, and a few deviled eggs... And a little potatos and what ever else was on the counter.... But mainly dead animals.

You guessed it. I had a pecan waffle and a omelet the wife had a patty melt.

We stopped by walmart to pick up a few grocery items which was a mistake. Early black friday sale started at 5pm. People lined up and down isles to save 4 freaking quarters. The sales are shit this year. The prices I have been seeing in all our sales papers are the same prices you get the item for on a typical sale. Not worth the BS to fight the crowd and traffic. Heck for that matter no sale this year even online has been amazing like they use to be. Mehhh, it is what it is.

Yes it did, which explains my mid-century Swanson frozen dinner.

But I jest sir.

We kept it simple this year as it was just the lady and I, breast in the oven, fresh cranberry sauce, mashed taters, dressing with ground veal (my wife's' family recipe), broccoli and muffins. Pumpkin pie later in the day.

Good day for us as I hope it was for you as well Paul.

Deep fried ours indoors this year. No muss, no fuss, no mess. 12lb bird done in 45 minutes, perfection.

In 18+ years of deep frying turkeys, never had a mess or any trouble.
