The only ones I'm usure of are the Tempus, Alma, and Ynclan.

The judge is just ok

Overall, Eye of the Shark is one of the best cigars of all time.

To me, this is probably the best list they have ever come up with despite the fact that they're still paid by their advertisers. It's more or less what I would expect out of the most mainstream cigar magazine. Would be nice to see Atabey or JSK make rank.

Had all except #9 and 10. Didn't think the Judge was any better than many other My Father offerings but liked most everything else on the list. Actually surprised that only one Cuban cigar is listed. Smoking from a '14 BBF box now and loving it.

Oliva V at 3..............AB Tempus at 5..........,pffft!
Same ol bs.....

The Oliva is a good cigar, but not top 10.
The Tempus? HA!

Yeah, only one CC in da top 10?
I've smoked 4 from the list, and the cigars I got from rfenst blows every one of those away........not even in the same league.

Same ol bs.....

"The Oliva is a good cigar, but not top 10."

It seems like the Melanio gets a lot of love on this board but not the V. To me the V is much better than the Melanio, and in my Top 10 fo sho, especially at the price point. Just bc the V is too strong for most people around here doesnt mean it's not a great cigar.

I dont have any cuban cigar experience, but from what I've read on here I probably wouldnt like most of them anyway. I like a more full cigar, in both strength and body.

I hear ya..........I've smoked quite a few Vs, in a variety of vitolas.
I used to love them years ago. But then the experience changed for me........either the cigar did, or my palate did, or most likely, a bit of both.
Basically I found them (the last several fivers I bought a few years back) to be a very strong, somewhat one dimensional cigar........and too many of them retained a bit of harshness, even after an extended nap. The strength didn't bother me, the harshness and boredom did.
Maybe I just got unlucky and hit a mediocre patch of fivers.

I havent had any that were harsh, but have had a few that were boring. Maybe the lack of consistency keeps it out of the top 10 for some. But I can say the same for LFD Double Ligero and the Padron thousand series as well. I've had a few that were not up to par. It's hard to expect perfection when you're dealing with a handmade product...

My experience with the V probably is as extensive as yours either. I started with a couple fivers and the overwhelming majority of them were great. Working on a box of robustos right now and have a full box aging as well. I read somewhere that the 2 year mark is what to shoot for when aging them. How long did you age your V's when they took the "extended nap"?

Never made it to 2 years....but always over a year.....probably 14 or 15 months or so.
Just checked...........I do in fact still have a fiver of the No. 4, that I won for $13, that is a bit over a year old..........I'll let those sit for another year and give them a try.

Used to smoke Alec Bradley's before they quit de-stemming their tobacco. Last dozen or so sucked. Haven't had one if at least 4 years. meh

My favorite regular V are those diademas you get in the samplers. Yep, the best regular Vs... wish they made boxes of them.

Who cares, it's a bought and paid for system from a magazine that hasn't put good content out since I have been in the hobby. I like a few of the cigars that made top ten as well as don't like a few that made the top ten. I don't believe that CA is unbiased in anything they do so their opinion is just that an biased opinion that doesn't matter.

What I do know though is every time they release the list the #1 cigar price goes up which is bad for people that like that particular cigar.

Well, it's a good thing the padron didn't win, things are already expensive.

Yep...........used to be able to get those at the other place for a good deal years ago.
I liked the smaller Diadema much more than the larger one back then.
