Great Mooch Sale at CI

If you are like me and host holiday parties where cigar smoking occurs, you will have the inevitable couple of guys that will need to mooch a cigar off of you in order to partake. I do NOT begrudge these folks, they are guests and should be able to enjoy. I feel quite obligated to have something available that they will enjoy.

BUT just like I don't put out my $150 bottle of Middleton at the "serve yourself" bar, I hand out more reasonably priced cigars for those inexperienced smokers in need.

In any case, CI is having their every-now-and-then sale where you get a $20 gift card when you buy selected 10 packs. A couple of the 10 packs are below $20 and others are right around $20 give or take. Normal shipping is just under $7. IF you will be buying from CI in the future anyway or if you have someone for whom a CI gift card would make a nice present, its a great way to stock up on some decent hand-them-out cigars for the holiday guests. There are "better" more expensive cigars on the sale list as well, but there are often deals on them that negate the advantage of the gift-card deal somewhat.

I'm looking at the Obsidian White Noise (never had them, but decent reviews, nice wrapper) and the Rocky Patel Cri-ojo (the occasional smoker will likely recognize the RP name) as this years hand outs.

if you take $20 off the price you get
A.B. Tempus 5.5"x55 for $2per
MOW Ruination 6"x60 for $2per
RyJ Vintage 6.25"x54 for $1.50per
Ave Maria 6"x48 for $1.50per, nice
Genesis 6"x50 for a buck
Oliva O 6.5"x52 for $2per
Room 101 San Andres 6"x60 for FIFTY CENTS
Kristoff Habano 5.5"x54 for $2per &
601 Maduro 5.25"zx52 for $2per.

Not bad for decent average smokes.

The White Noise is super average. Nothing special about it at all, but relatively smooth and not bad if you are hard up or want to hand them out to people that know nothing about cigars. It is one of my yard gars I like to keep around in case i don't have the time to really enjoy what I am smoking.

If you're not going to enjoy it, then why smoke it in the first place, Hank ?
Perhaps, for you, (and some others here), smoking cigars is more of a "habit" than a "pleasure".
Not being critical . . . just stating what works or doesn't work for me personally.

I doubt Hank notices any difference at all between different cigars and that his smoking is not so much a habit as an effort to achieve some sort of imagined social status ...

You would think picking on Hank would be over by now. I keep a large stock of yard gars just for when I'm working outside and can't enjoy a great cigar. Of course, I don't light my cigars with 100 dollars bills.

the best cheaper smokes I have burned often are:

HC SERIES WHITE SHADE GROWN- Very good high mild smoke. As good as any Macanudo I ever ever smoked. Should be able to score a Bundle of for $32 or less any day of the week.

GURKHA ARCHIVE- I know it's a Gurkha but it still offers a decent smooth sweet medium Habano flavor. A Bundle of 20 for $40 is a lock any time.

HC SERIES CRIOLLO-Again, good smooth medium flavor. $2.50per or less any day of the week.

5 VEGAS SERIES 'A'- for the Maduro lovers this is a solid smoke. BETTER then Macanudo maduro by a mile. I like the 6.5"x52 Box Pressed Alex best. Scored four packs of 5 for $36 last month. Always goes for $2per

CAO BLACK- Same as the HC WHITE, smooth and high mild and always around $2.50.

DIESEL-Decent near full flavor and always around $2.50per.

MAN O WAR LEGEND- good crisp medium flavor. Got a pack of 20 of the 5.5"x52 for $37 last month.

or go to C.I. or Cigar.com and score these a decent prices:

Relic, R.P. Signature, CAO Havana Daydreamin, Torano Captiva, and Rocky Patel 6"x60's all at decent prices.

In the list above, I like the Man o War line quite a bit, not just the Legends. HC was tasty when they first came out, but gone downhill since, just bland now IMO. 5 Vegas I only use to chomp on when playing poker where I can't light up. They hold up well for that.

Gurks? No just on principle...

Had to go look at the invoice... the "Morning Star" is the fat perfecto. IMO it smokes like a dream. Easily in my top 3.
