2015, Marcel Deiss Alsace Blance, Alsace, France. Frank, you should be able to find the Lustau Sherry mentioned above. If you can I think you would enjoy it. It is an after dinner sipper. Definatly sweet, but very enjoyable. After opening it will last about 3 weeks.

2015, Ironeside Pinot Noir reserve, Monterrey, California.

Big, rich, dark cherry, and blackberry fruit. A full velvety mouthful. Nice core of minerality. Earthyness, forest floor, and mushrooms. Perhaps a touch of leather, and a hint of Cacao. Nose of violets, red plums, and anise. Long pleasant finish.

Medium rare grilled rib eye.
Creamed spinach with bacon bits.
Fried sweet potato slices.
Tossed salad with 20 year balsamic vinegar.

2012 Bogle Petite Sirah - as with most PS’s I’ve had, regardless of price or brand, it was exceptional after 5 years.

Not going with a bubbly this New Year eve but going to pull something good out of the Vinotemp.

Thinking Caymus SS or maybe a Harlan Estate

Started searching and found this for tonight:

Ojai Syrah Thompson Vineyard 2005 (purchased when a friend did a summer internship at the winery)

Still a monster with well-integrated tannins, soft vanilla, roasted meat and oak. Just a touch of brown on the rim. Could have cellered this for many more years.

On my bucket list to visit the Barossa. Can't think of a bad Shiraz I have had from that region.

Meiomi Pinot Noir.

Anyone use the app Vivino? You take a snapshot of the bottle and you get a rating and average cost.

2011 Turley Zin Dusi Vineyard (outstanding)
2005 Ojai Syrah Special Bottling Bien Nacido Vineyard (only 4 barrels made also outstanding)

I've had mainly local wines lately (Retzlaff, Livermore). For thanksgiving we opened a 2008 Pontet Canet and a 2011 Corison Cab. Both excellent wines.
