I work for a gubmint contractor and we get the day off. But, since we live in the land of tomorrow, it will be Tuesday for us, which closely aligns with Monday back in the states.

However... -- I -- ...don't... get the day off. I'll be working noon to midnight.

But, the good news... it will be a 20 hour payday. I get paid the 8 hours for the holiday too.

I am off today and I don’t work for the government. Although, I’m a bit behind so, like most holidays, I’ll be working some.

I had to work today. I'm always amazed at the amount of reduced traffic on government holidays. Between them and the major colleges downtown being off it feels like half the cars on the highway are missing.

I don't think many buisnesses recognize the day. Steve, if it's important to you you could take a pto day.

Parent company closed, we work.

Prefer a floating holiday during the 11 days it is warm, to a mid February day off.

Also working Washington and Lincoln's birthdays.

I bust my asss all being legal.

SteveS-just noticed the word Holiday is in quotes...do you do the same for any others?

Interesting quickie on NPR this morning, interviewed someone I did not know who had a theory that the holiday for MLK actually dilutes his work...she said it was like Santa Clausing did to Christmas in order to pacify the Pagans while "converting" them, and now we are about Santa Clause.

She said it condensed into just 4 words...I have a dream...a lot of brilliant work by King that is not known by the general public
