Taste test:

Hanger 24 Pugachev's Cobra (13.8 abv) ve Canadian Breakfast Stout (11.7abv)

Both very enjoyable and both have some maple syrup as an adjunct but the CBS is slightly sweeter and I enjoyed the Cobra more. About the same price. YMMV

I haven't compared the CBS but I agree with you that the CBS is sweet, maybe too sweet. I enjoy the KBS much more.

Just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Was at one of my favorite adult beverage shpos and a customer brought it in for the guys. The customer is a doctor and seems to be able to get (...obviously he can afford it...) really htf stuff. Anyway, after he left, they asked if I wanted a taste...how could I say no? Had a very small pour in a neat glass. Purplish-brown in color. On my initial whiff, it smelled like a Madeira and very much wine-like, nothing close to a beer. Tasted a very slight hint of chocolate and did come across more port-ish. Was really hard to figure it out but needless to say, I was very appreciative of being able to try it.
