I smoked a Gurkha... the Abuelo.

My buddy went on a cruise and hit a cigar shop somewhere around the DR, and of naturally he asks the shop keeper what the best cigars are...

And naturally, the shop keeper sees a dumb ass noob tourist and says Gurkha Abuelos are the best...

Anyway, wasn't too bad for about the first 3rd I guess, then the rummish flavor got too old too quick.

The underlying tobacco didn't seem to be the best of stock either, but the rum did a pretty good job masking it for a while.

In any case, if it wasn't my good buddy that brought it to me (or if a not so good buddy gave it to me), I probably would have donated it to Hank.

My first Gurkha... at least I powered through half of it.

It's probably still in my ashtray.

That's a great idea!

Some of the Gurkhas from 15 years ago were actually pretty good.
A few that come to mind . . .
Class Regent
Ancient Warrior, etc.
There were more, but it was 15 years ago and my memory ain't what it used to be.

I've had an occasional one that wasn't bad.

Never had one that was really good though. I do remember one that I kind of liked, can't remember the name. Bought a fiver and all 5 tasted and burned differently. That was about the time I got on here and learned that CI's advertisements weren't exactly truthful, but they got me

I think your man card should be revoked. Just nasty. You are going to need to gargle acid to get rid of that taste. ugh

Hank, I said I smoked a Gurkha, I think you got that confused with that one time you blew a Turk.

Like I said, though . . . These were from a long time ago, like 15 years.
Times, (and cigars) have changed.

I've smoked a few...none were remarkable, bad or good....can't remember their names...

at one time, CI would throw one, two, or a few in the box when you ordered certain stuff.

Eh........about 1 out 3 of the old Titans were decent yard gars, but too many had burn and flavor issues.
I've mentioned it before, but I had a Titan literally explode in my face, scaring the crap out of me.........sounded like a one of those New Years Eve poppers...............ripped a 1/2 inch gash in the wrapper.
That was the last Gurkha I smoked.

That's how I got the ones that I have had, throw-ins from CI or the related site when ordering something else. At best they were nothing at worst couldn't finish and had to get out the Scope to clean my mouth.
