I have an idea for a sampler, that would rock the world of al dark cigar lovers, I guess you would have to call it the cream of the crop, Take the very best of the darkies from across the entire industry and put them into one sampler. I so wish I could get someone behind creating this. I know I for one would definitely enjoy it.

There's a few holes in your theory (opinion).
1. Everyone's idea of the "Best" is based on that person's individual taste in "Dark" cigars.
2. A "Dark" wrapper could consist of many different flavors and vary in strength depending on a handfull of variants.
3. If I put all of the cigars I liked that fit your profile, I'd probably not be able to afford it without some advance purchase planning.

Cool thought though.

My idea would be the top 30, so a rather large sampler of the best Maduros on the market.

Top 5? I am still sampling, but one that will always make my list is the La Gloria Cubana. After that, I know for certain that my second choice currently would be a Partagas Cifuentes Maduro Double Toro. After that, I can't really say. Still so many to try.

Kristoff Maduro (any)

Camacho Triple Maduro

L'Atelier Maduro

CAO Brazilia

Arturo Fuente Anejo

Arturo Fuente 858 (Maduro or Sun Grown)

Just to name a few.

the best I have smoked in a toro size or bigger that are not outrageously priced are:

E.P. CARRILLO LA HISTORIA
E.P. CARRILLO SELECION OSCURO
OLIVA SERIE 'O' MADURO
CASA FERNANDEZ MIAMI RESERVA MADURO
CASA FERNANDEZ AGANORSA LEAF MADURO
JAVA MADURO
JAVA RED
ROCKY PATEL SUN GROWN MADURO
PERDOMO 20th ANNIVERSARY MADURO
CROWNED HEADS JERICHO HILL
EIROA MADURO
FLORES y RODRIGUEZ CONNECTICUT VALLEY RESERVE MADURO
KRISTOFF MADURO
L'ATELIER MADURO
LA DUENA
MI QUERIDA
PUNCH GRAN PURO NICARAGUA
SAN LOTANO MADURO
TATUAJE COJONU 2012 MADURO

and you can add a lot of darkies that are solid like the Partagas Cifuentes Maduro, Diesel Wicked, Perdomo Habano Barrel Aged, Perdomo Small Batch Maduro, Graycliff 10 Year Vintage, CAO Brazilia, Partagas Black, and so on...
