Hope you all have a great Wed. I think today I will see about getting the pizza stone for the grill and also buying a Smoker. Thinking about going electric. Any thoughts or input on a nice smoker. I am looking for one to hold a good sized brisket. Brands, Sizes, Links appreciated.

Afternoon, all. Started at 68 this morning and is dropping through the day to the upper thirties by this evening. I hate those days.

I wish I could take credit for that. I considered making a second profile once but it seemed like too much of a pain.

Welp, got woke up by the wife, Today is another Dr Visit.

Its amazing that only after 2 to 3ish years how quick I have went from loving the medical field to absolutely hating it. All it takes is putting on the shoes of another and walking a mile in them.

Enjoy your health while you have it folks and do not take it for granted.

Everyone have a great day.

very cool... doesn't even look real...

what's up with those little fish? I didn't think anything would live in there... anything else swimming around down there?

Doesn't appear to be anything else.
As these are caverns, the entrance is open air.. so there are a lot more freshwater fish at the opening... all small.
Depending on the cavern, I saw cichlids, tiny catfish (looked like those red tail sharks fish stores sell, but without the red tail), a lot of those tiny 2-3in fish. nothing too special though.

As you get deeper, there are fewer fish. since dreamgate was just 10-30 feet in depth throughout, lots of fish. El Pit however, turns to saltwater at about 40ft (when you pass through the halocline)... so no fish there, as the freshwater fish aren't going to make it past there... not sure if any saltwater fish ever come in from the ocean...

I'm thinking of cutting more of my video down and loading it. I'm not particularly good at video editing, or even video shooting.... but I've logged hours of video from my dives, just because I thought the woman would be interested in seeing it.... (spoiler, she wasnt)...

but I've got video from reefs, a couple walls, wrecks...cenotes...

I've probably got a few more good clips of dreamgate... I'll try to edit them out over the weekend.
Did two other cenotes a couple days before... one had a couple cool areas.

https://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2018/02/21/ancient-human-remains-found-in-flooded-cave-mexico-orig-llr.cnn

This is part of the same cave system as El Pit and Dreamgate. I believe the ancient sloth remains can be found in a Cenote called devils bell or something like that. My guide said he would take me to that one next time I'm diving by myself... its another very deep Cenote, so guides are frequently unwilling to take people who haven't demonstrated a certain level of proficiency... or have way more certs than I have.

I really gotta complete my training....

I still haven't completed my Advanced open water... even though I dive to depths which usually require it...

But you need the advanced cert to be able to do sidemount (where you have a redundant tank) and cavern diving... and you need both of those certs to get the cave diving cert.

After that I can get into those crazy caves... One of the videos I went up to an opening of one... really really wanted to go in... :)
