First off, Gus Kenworthy is a world class athlete. Bravo. America might appreciate you as an athlete.

You're gay?
So what.
Get over yourself.
And your fans waving a rainbow flag instead of an American flag when you race? Poor form.

But none of that makes you a POS.

Your tweet regarding the daughter of our sitting President? Yep.
THAT makes you a worthless POS.
Ivanka visits and watches and enjoys the games to represent the First Family. She did nothing to disrespect our nation nor the games.
The same can not be said for you.

Shameful.
Keep your petty comments to yourself while you're in a position to represent our country.

I don’t even know who this Guy guy is, and am less than impressed by Ivanka so I’m at somewhere between defcon 0 and 0.5

Donald says Ivanka is a hot piece of ass. That’s inappropriate.

Meh. Can't seem to muster any outrage over the gaythlete's comments. Until I looked at this post, I didn't know who he was.

Was dumb. Part of the price we pay for living in a country with free speech.

Can't seem to care here.

I'm not real moved either, may have missed it entirely if I did not waste my life here.
Though I have no desire to learn the political opinions of athletes and celebrities in general, I dislike Ingraham's comment 'shut up and dribble' more than the opinions expressed...simply because they are Americans with that right.

Shut up Laura, and defend that right.

But...yawn.

Maybe boycotting Head and Shoulders would make a statement?

If you are going by my judgement of right or wrong you have bigger issues.

Disrespect? Maybe, but that was about as nice as you can be when disrespecting someone. Honestly, don't see a problem with it...he didn't call her any names and simply stated she put nothing into the Olympics and was there. Big deal, grow up and move on....shouldn't even have been news.

I gotta make a mental note to be sure I comment more often on subjects I don't care about.

Seems a lot of people are fully committed to their apathy.

She was a spectator cheering on the athletes.......didn't she put as much into being there as all the other spectators in attendance??Think

I don't have that answer, to be honest that point didn't factor that into my question. Anxious

Watched a lot of Olympics last couple weeks....I've never even heard of this guy....maybe I wasn't paying attention, IDK

I'm mostly sick of tweets becoming news....unless it's Trump, because we've established that Trumptweets are 'policy'....anyone else? I couldn't gaf....I don't even care how 'outrageous' they are...not composed...no context...stream of thought...bam....I'd call them nothingburgers...if I didn't hate that term worse than tweets

Dude was praised for being "First openly gay winter olympian".

And here I thought figure skating was already an olympic event.

no kidding

Early in the Olympics, I thought I heard the same claim about Adam Rippon; I turned and said to my wife the exact same thing about male figure skating

there were probably straight males in pairs over the years...and maybe even in skate dancing....but I doubt there have been many in 'men's figure skating'

define "openly gay"...you guys are right about men's figure skating being known for having gay athletes, it was always a backstory...so who gave Kenworthy the "first openly" title?

but as far as commentary: if Kenworthy tweeted, "Trump is making America great again, especially producing a daughter like Ivanka, who is hotter than her dad says she is" ... you'd be OK with him speaking out and would change your mind about calling him a POS. He'd be celebrated as a con hero.

Cons, like Laura Ingraham, don't like public figures (athletes like Kenworthy and LeBron, entertainers and celebrities or other public figures not in politics) who speak out about political matters...they should all stay in their lanes, except if they support the cons agenda...Clint Eastwood and Charlton Heston were embraced for speaking on behalf of the GOP...

Actually, since an Olympic athlete represents not himself, but the country that he competes for, you're right. I would be OK with an athlete complimenting the sitting President.

Not sure why you'd even mention that.

And by the way: LOL!

Conservatives don't like athletes speaking out?
You gonna own that one? Because that's a joke.

Back in 2011 when the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup, goalie Tim Thomas chose not to visit the Obama White House.
The city practically ran him out of town.

In fact, they even (get ready for it) played the RACE CARD!

Aw cmon, talk about double standard!
Trump has insulted everyone and anyone who has hasn't kissed his ring!

Including past presidents and heads of state.

But that's okay?

I remember my mother telling me a long time ago that if I didn't have anything nice to say about someone to keep my mouth shut. Doesn't always work that way but I adhere to that pretty strictly in public.

Were you outraged by his anti govt stand when Thomas decided not to attend, like you are now over Kenworthy and your perception that he insulted America?
