This has been my go to cigar for the past half a year or so. I tried them on a whim, and instantly fell in love. Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, over 3 different Dominican Ligero leaves and 1 Nicaraguan Viso leaf. The binder is Dominican. Lots of deep dark coffee, espresso and baker's chocolate, with a slightly sweet finish, a decent amount of black pepper, and hints of citrus and nuts. The smoke has a very creamy mouthfeel, and smoke output is well above average. Strength is full, but it sneaks up on you and can catch you unaware.
I've tried the Robusto (5" x 50) and the Corona Gorda (6" x 47). The Corona Gorda is my hands down favorite of the two. I've gone through maybe 4 boxes, with 6 additional boxes in my coolers. I hope to add more before my supplier runs out. Keep in mind these are the original Untamed, not the Untamed Extreme that are offered here. From what I've read, the Extreme uses the same wrapper and binder, but the filler is 3 Ligero leaves (2 Dominican and 1 PA). I'll have to give them a try if I can find them here at auction for cheap.
Of course being who I am, I've been grabbing these for just under $2 a stick (after my discount), not the $150 - $180 a box most places want for them.
Has anyone else tried these or the Extreme? Opinions?
