Got bored. Been meaning to try this for a while. Use for board games, gambling, or weaponry. Steel dice made out of a piece of railroad spike!

Probably not very.

Pretty sure the 5 and the 2 are supposed to be on opposite sides.

Then again, pretty sure most the Chinese counterparts aren't very balanced either.

Probably not!

I checked a couple dice I had in the house, they all had this layout. Just looked online, it seems there are one or two variations. Before I make more I'll see if there's an 'official' dot setup.

The opposite sides should always equal 7 on a standard die.

This is true for all dice, where n is the number of sides, the opposite sides should add up to n + 1.

Die looks so cool. The opposite sides equalling seven sounds right though.

Machined with an angle grinder and a drill press. Not as precise as a mill, buy I don't have one of those!

ThumpUp Even better. Making a true square is not easy, it's a first project for some German apprentice programs using nothing but files.

That's the way to go. You learn more starting from scratch.

If you find a pair that roll a regular combination of 7's............PM me.These would be a great addition to lodge this fall when all those doctors and lawyers show up looking to throw some money away.

Where are you getting all these railroad spikes from?!? Ya'll better watch out for a boxcar derailment near Haines' house!
Just kidding, nice work...the idea of dice as a weapon is intriguing.

Think

couple dice connected by a strong chain hanging from the rear view mirror could come in handy.... Mellow

but then again... a couple railroad spikes connected by a strong chain hanging from the rear view mirror would be even more effective... Think

One of my favorite parts about handing someone their ashtray is the initial: "Wow, that's heavy." Half-second pause. "You could kill someone with this."

Every time, without fail. Not sure how it is when you fellas open your boxes, though!

The spike ashtrays are the heaviest, so they're even quicker about with those.

I saw that he was back for a bit last summer. Haven’t exchanged PMs with him since secret Santa 2016. I hope he’s ok.

His inbox is full, so he won’t get pinged by a PM. Anyone have a way to contact him?

I think he just came in, bombed people with ashtray for cigar trades... then bounced. He was an interesting guy.

Like Drafter, Harvey sent me an ashtray out-of-the-blue, no trade set up or even a hint of a trade so I think he had good intentions. But even if his intent was to get cigars, he never mooched or seemed to even expect payback. Like you said, he was an interesting guy.

I got one of his ashtrays through a side trade we did during the 2016 Secret Santa exchange. Nice dude who did not come across as young as he is. I’d love to hear that he’s doing well.

I would agree except for the part about expecting a payback. I think he did expect to be paid back, his targets were notorious heavy hitters.

Didn't look at who he targeted but you might be right there. At any rate, he did bring a freshness to the forum, something that seems to be missing right now.

always thought he was honorable, a misfit with a different talent that he figured out a way to emerge and then grew from there.
we might have just been another place from which he received knowledge...if I recall correctly he followed his woman to the frozen tundra only to be dumped.

cool kid with an old soul.

He was the Anti-Hank. Maybe we could get him to come back and make Hank disappear??
