Just picked up some of these for a nice mellow smoke. Anyone of the more experienced smokers out there have any opinions on these. The price has been really good.

Have not had one in many years, so my personal observations are probably irrelevant.
But back when I was smoking them, too many were air-balls.
And, the Reconquista, while a good enough cigar, was very over-priced.

Now recently there's been chatter here about the Ave Marias again, from RAH, and noobs, and a few others....
Just not quite enough chatter to make me buy them at what they appear to be going for now.

Real simple Steve. Do you enjoy them? If so, it doesn't matter what anyone else's opinion is.

The last ones I had were airballs.

I personally haven't had one yet. Bought them on a whim, put in a low bid and got them. I like trying different cigars and beers. No sense in limiting to anyone thing.

Well, even if you don't like the ones you bought, or they were just so so, maybe try a much different vitola.
That's one thing I'll say about Ave Maria, I think they have 326 different vitolas..........ok......less.......but not much less...........and different vitolas of the same blend can taste and smoke quite differently.

MUWAT comes to mind. The Baitfish, after a medium nap, is a go to for me, while the big ring versions (5x60, 6x60) are decent yard gars when I'm wrenching on one of my vehicles. For some reason, I like big ring cigars when playing mechanic.......they hold up well when tossed around, etc.

I tried a box of them for work break smokes. They weren't a bad morning smoke with coffee, but I probably wouldn't buy them again because they were too mild for my tastes.

Been experimenting with connecticuts, I've actually found very few that I really enjoy, but many that were just ok for my tastes (this being one of those).

If you are one that prefers milder smokes though, you'll probably like it.

I like the Camacho Connys and Camacho Criollos too

Nah, been meaning to try the shade, just haven't yet.

The connie that got me started was the Perdomo Champagne. That's an awesome cigar, it's actually one of my current favs.

Edit:

Haven't found one that comes close to it yet, still trying though. The Padron Damaso is pretty good, but no where near on the level of the Champagne in my opinion.

Haven't tried that one. Tried the sun grown version, which I like and would buy again.

About a year ago, I was able to secure several bundles of DE Undercrown Shade 2nds for cheap. I've already smoked through dozens, and have yet to figure out why these where pulled off to the side as 2nds. They smoke and taste exactly like the 1sts I've smoked.

So, we can do this the easy way. You can PM me your addy, in which case I'll send you an inexpensive little CBid 5ver of some connies to try.

Or, you can make me call out for a bus driver. But doing so tends to make this FOG very, very grumpy.

Your call.

+1
The ones you sent me were no different than the firsts I've smoked............just no band.
The ONLY thing I saw was maybe the caps were not quite up to DE standards, but the smoke was excellent.
It's still my favorite Connie.

So yeah BGZ, better to just pm DP your addy....

GL, I moved. Don't play the trading game any more bro.

I do appreciate it though.

No one said anything about a trade.

If something is flying in the mail, it's a trade...

Before I moved, I competed in my last contest (ended up pissing someone off... like usual ;) and did one last bomb.

Retired from the trading game (not like I traded that much before that anyway... going to the post office sucks).

Ok so I got to try an Immaculata an I thought it was a pretty good cigar. I don't have the ability to taste the flavors but it was a smooth smoke none the less. It had a even burn, nice ash and did not have to relight it. So that is my very first cigar review.
