especially with a sharpe knife.

Received two 5 packs of Hoya de Monterey this week and in a hurry pulled out my knife. Yep yes guessed it, slit not only the plastic but the cigar wrapper as well for about 4" in length. Heart broke, but I still took them out proud, a new brand for me.

Excellent.

Thought these were supposed to be the Montecristo's I've been wanting, but good cigar anyway

Thanks to whoever recommended them.

So...

You ordered Hoya de Monterrey and thought they were Montecristo.

And then you stabbed them with your steely knife...

And you're still happy.

Cool

Musta been a really sharp knife. Hopefully it was only 1 cigar that you cut.

If you ever go somewhere to meet the OP, he will be the one with all the bandages on his hands.

I did the same thing with my last shipment of PIs and Hesitant Pirates. I just patched them up with a little duct tape. Didn't effect the taste at all.

Had some show up with a rather large cut through the bag, wrapper and the cigar. Opened by hand pretty sure it wasn't my nails that cut through it XD

Thumb on flat part of the blade makes for a good depth stop gauge.

Do I need to make a you-tube video on how to properly use a knife...Damn guys, WTF and I thought I was the one who had the stroke!

While my inclination is to laugh at the OP and rib him a bit.....I will admit that cigar packaging is a much bigger PITA than it needs to be. Some 5 packs are damn near childproof and a lot of boxes are even worse. I'm sure my dexterity isn't what it once was, but fluuck....I really shouldn't need a Bowie knife, a Dremel, and a claw hammer to open a fn box of cigars

I can send you my surgical kit dstieger. I do not need them no more since I have dissected all the neighbors cats and made dream catchers out of the fur. Gave all the neighbors cool dream catchers for Christmas. I dont think they have realized the fur is from their long lost kitties but its all good. They like em.

Any how the blades need cleaning but might help with getting into the packages with out damage.

Shudda just used a sharp knife. You didn't need the sharpe one.

I think that's where you went wrong. Well, not really...If you don't know the difference between a Hoyo De Monterey and a Montecristo between what you ordered and what was sent...might want to take up knitting.
