Really interesting Delta. I googled and found this about guns and gun violence in Japan.

Ya, logic would suggest that if a population has very few guns, then it's going to have far fewer gun deaths.

Because Japan started out pretty much banning guns, there's not a lot of guns there.

Japan isn't eve the size of Texas, but I would guess that there's more guns in Texas than Japan has people.

I feel sorry for the dumb fkers that try to get those guns.

Anyway, you can't compare the two, because the genie is already out of the bottle here, you can't stuff it back in.

First of all, I agree with you.
But one of the problem here is that it's the anti-gun crowd that wants change, but the anti-gun crowd are the ones trying to force the gun owners to make the first move.

As I stated before: Gun owners have been the honest ones in this debate. They said they don't want to give up their guns. Any of them. Ever.
The anti-gunners blame the weapons and say we need change, but they REFUSE to say what that change is. You call it zero sum, but what are they being asked to negotiate? You demand flexibility but won't tell them how far they need to bend.

Me tell them? Didn't realize how powerful I was!! Ok people! Now listen Up!

Since Parkland 19 states are considering 'red flag' gun bills.
(bills that would let a court temporarily prohibit someone from possessing or buying firearms if they're deemed to pose a threat to themselves or others.)

The Dept. Of Justice is considering eliminating bump stock devices.
Many states are probably going to raise the legal age limit to 21.

At ease everyone!

Right. But times are changing. I suspect that future generations won't be as in to collecting guns like past generations were.
Of course I could be wrong.
But it would be the first time.

I implore all of you who agree with this original post to check out the convention of states movement, article 5 of the constitution states -

“The congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this constitution, when ratified by the legislature of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the senate”

You’ll hear a lot of those on the left and even moderates of both parties say we don’t want a run away convention well there can never be a run away convent when three fourths of the several states need to ratify any changes to the constitution as of today 14 April 2018 12 states have ratified applications for a convention of states and if you believe in liberty and small government and being a free people I implore you to check out this movement and what it’s about and what it aims to accomplish

The only answer is to add manditory curriculum from grades 4-12 on how to safely use and operate firearms and to teach children this course with military-like discipline. Every citizen in our country should be qualified enough to be a soldier.

I think this was hitler's idea as well. I'd rather see compulsory military service; something along the lines of Israel's. fog

No hitler's idea was mandatory military service. My idea is to have our nation so sharply trained in warfare that any person can fight in a minute's notice should they so choose.
