Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and John McCain’s 2008 running mate, reportedly said she feels a “perpetual gut-punch” every time she hears about McCain’s regret in picking her for his team.

“That’s not what Sen. McCain has told me all these years, as he’s apologized to me repeatedly for the people who ran his campaign,” Palin told The Daily Mail. She said over the years, "I stop him all the time and say, 'Please don't apologize.'"

McCain wrote in his book, “The Restless Wave,” that he regretted not choosing his friend, Connecticut Senator Joseph Lieberman, as his running mate, calling it “another mistake that I made,” according to The New York Times. McCain reportedly wrote that his advisers warned him against picking her a vice-presidential candidate who caucused with Democrats.

His advisers picked Palin, the Alaska governor and Tea Party favorite.

“I attribute a lot of what we're hearing and reading regarding McCain's statements to his ghostwriter or ghostwriters,” Palin said. “I don't know unless I heard it from Sen. McCain myself.”

No worries Sarah, don't let this bother you. According to the WH, what McCain says, "doesn't matter...he's dying anyway."

The Alaskan soccer mom who lived across the fjord from Russia, whose voice and persona sucker punched us all...she ushered in the era of GOP cluelessness being acceptable as a qualification for the highest offices in the land...

Anyone who voted for Obama over Palin was a sexist. It's so sad that all those Democrat women allowed their husbands to dictate who they should vote for, when they had the historical opportunity to elect the first women vice president. Palin should have gone on a speaking tour after the election, asking women groups "how did we let this happen"?

I better add this for the satirically impaired.

My thinking is if one is satirically impaired, then they will not know what satirically impaired means so let me help out a little bit.

Sorry, Drafter...it's true...Kelly Sadler, a WH communications staff member, said it during a meeting at the WH about opposition to the nomination of Gina Haspel as CIA chief.

Yes I knew that.. but by saying the Whitehouse said you imply it was an official press release instead of a leaked unofficial goof said in private.. Mellow

I wasn't implying that, but whenever a quote is attributed to someone in the WH, it gets noticed by the public and the WH is considered the source...the next step is whether or not the WH chooses to respond, and if so, how.

The WH has responded, acknowledging the remark as "a joke" and botched it by not issuing a public apology to McCain...instead they said it's been handled because Sadler issued a private apology to his daughter, who has told reporters that Sadler would issue a public apology...

These are slow-pitch batting practice serves, and the WH (Trump's Administration) continues to appear mean-spirited, classless and incompetent...

Stupid joke, stupid way to handle the fallout. But, our “incompetent” administration seems to be doing very good things about the economy which is ignored.

Some of the de-regulatory efforts to help big business are resulting in short term gains...but we'll (or subsequent generations) be paying for them in the long run...dirtier air, dirtier water, more sick people, massive contaminated super-fund sites...

The cons are tolerant of Trump in the way that a poor family tolerates a rich "uncle" who brings food, clothes, a new used car and some patio furniture...while crapping and smelling up the bathroom and plugging the sewage line, calling everyone derogatory names and belittlling them, molesting the kids, flirting with the neighbor's wife and daughters, breaking the good dinner ware and microwave oven and leaving cigarette and cigar burns in the living room sofa... all while keeping an eye on the living room window, looking for the undercover cops he swears are following him...
