Seeing a recent thread about DMV's Full Sail got me to thinking about brands long gone but not forgotten

The ones that I miss the most in no particular order

La Luna African Fuerte
Don Lino Africa (with the Cameroon wrapper)
La Luna Maduro Fuerte
Maria Guerrero
Perdomo Cuban Cafe
CAO Criollo

What are some that y'all miss?

The original, blue cloth band Oliva Os where the ones that hooked me on cigars. The current Os are nothing like them.
DPG had the El Rico del a Habano I think it was? The corona in that line was fantastic.

Not brands, but I lament the discontinuation of the thinner Cuban cigars. The Cuban Lonsdales, panatelas, etc. fog

That Don Lino Africa brings back the memories.

Does anyone miss the Diablo Picante?

Opps, and how could I possibly leave out the '07 Morados and the '09 RP Winter Blend?

How is it that the Lonsdale is better represented now in NC cigars than CCs? It's sort of a cruel joke....

I just hope that Habanos doesn't decide that the few lanceros they have left are superfluous.....

Yep . . . That it does.

Not yet . . . I still have a handful.

Opps, and how could I possibly leave out the '07 Morados and the '09 RP Winter Blend?
Got a few of these still hiding, as well.

And to this, I will add, the Drew Estate MEDUSA !
Boy do I miss the days of winning entire lots of these . . . anywhere from 3 - 9 boxes for $3 a piece.

Oliva Ovation if I recall. Blue and Red labels. One of my first favorites.

Totally agree on this one

DPG El Rey de los Habanos was the name... had a red label. I gave one to my father-in-law and he still has it (7 years later)

I may have to swipe it from his humidor next time

I'm with you Julian. Even the coronas are vanishing from the marques.

Not that the larger RG stuff is bad, some of the new ones are absolutely stellar but damn, some variety would be nice...

OR Royal Silk. Had a few about 8 years back and is to this day one of my favorite cigars (super strong and spicy). I saw that they still make them but have read that they are pretty crappy now. Man, what I would do for an OR Royal Silk.

Hey John Holmes, if 52-56 RG is your idea of small, I'd hate to see what you consider a jawbreaker cigar.

I just thought he suffered from Tripoditis…...after having to guide his pecker around every time he needs to pee, all the available RG's must seem small...Anxious

Thunder Gerbil, that term is reserved for anything 60 ring and above. I have no problem with smaller ring gars, 40’s and 30’s are fine too. But my favorite are 52-55

Haven't bought any foreign cigars this year, but added some LGC Medaille d'Oro lanceros to my last order.

The band I miss most is the Bonzo Dog Band.

Kinky Freidman Cigars by Olivares. Specifically the "Texas Jewboy." That cigar will always have a special place in my heart. I only have three left. If you have more, please send em!

I think I'm out of Texas Jewboys, but I remember that one of Kinky's smokes was fairly good. One of several winning bids was a backorder of Kinky's stuff and that's when I found out they were about to be gone.

Yeah, I bought out every single one of them at my local liquor store and then had the manager verify every single location in their network. I was about to drive three hours to Nacadoches to pick up the last ones but when he called, they were nowhere to be found.

The Kinky's I had were: Kinky Friedman “the Governor”,Kinky Friedman kinckycristo belicoso,Kinky Friedman special edition “Big Richard”,Kinky Friedman Texas Jewboy torpedo,Kinky Friedman Utopian,Kinky Friedman “Willy” shaggy foot.

The best of them was the Utopian and the worst was the Governor IMHO.
Kinky got together with a Texas shop and came out with some newer cigars, but I haven't seen or tried them..

He's with Carrerras SA now. The new cigars are alright. I bought mine H.A. at Galveston, that's the flagship store I believe. I think Little Jewford goes down there and plays piano from time to time. He's got them in robusto, toro, and gordo sizes.
