Inciting a Riot....

"A person is guilty of inciting to riot when one urges ten or more persons to engage in tumultuous and violent conduct of a kind likely to create public alarm."
Think

Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters on Saturday encouraged her supporters to fight back against the Trump administration amid backlash over the White House’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy — and said “the people” will “absolutely harass” Trump staffers.

Speaking on MSNBC, the California congresswoman said current administration officials who defend Trump “know what they’re doing is wrong” and said they soon won’t be able to peacefully appear in public without being harassed.

“They’re not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they’re not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they’re not going to be able to shop at a department store,” Waters said. “The people are going to turn on them, they’re going to protest, they’re going to absolutely harass them.”

Waters seemed adamant the protests would continue until cabinet members tell Trump, “No, I can’t hang with you. This is wrong, this is unconscionable.”

Waters told supporters at a rally in Los Angeles earlier Saturday that she wanted “history to record that we stood up that we pushed back that we fought that we did not consider ourselves victims of this president.”

She continued, “History will record that while he tried to step on all of us we kicked him in his rear and we stepped on him.”

Her comments come as White House officials have been the targets of protests amid continued backlash.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was confronted by an angry mob at a Mexican restaurant in Washington on Tuesday night, and on Friday was taunted outside her townhouse in Virginia.

Press secretary Sarah Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant in Virginia after the co-owner said it “has certain standards that I feel it has to uphold, such as honesty, and compassion, and cooperation.”

So you think the signers of the Declaration of Independence are criminals. Good to know where you stand on that. Never took you for a Torey. Come to think of it that means you think Mahatma Gandi, Nelson Mandela, and Dr Martin Luther King were criminals also. Well, a Torey would think that of Gahndi. And South Africa was an English Colony, so I could see a Torey resentment for Mandela.

LMAO! I doubt that many here would think I am a lefty extremist. I am pointing out the fact that civil disobedience is far different than rioting. She directly said harass. This would be a form of civil disobedience.

ri·ot
ˈrīət/Submit
noun
1.
a violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd.

ha·rass
həˈras,ˈherəs/Submit
verb
1.
subject to aggressive pressure or intimidation.

I never said it was Einstein. Do you try to comprehend what is written or just warp it it fit your narrative. Civil disobedience often leads to arrest with misdemeanor criminal charges. Civil disobedience often is a form of harassment. When asking people to harass Trump officials, you are asking them to be civilly disobedient. Inciting a riot is far different from civil disobedience Try to keep on point Z, when you go full bad democrat mode you lose site of the facts.

Wikipedia famous riots.

As often as not they were justified.

Sometimes they were stupid and cruel. Sometimes necessary .

What Drafter posted is a talking point meant to widen the chasm between camps.

And it works. Because everyone's fed up with the other side.

That said, Gandhi, Mandela and King never sought to incite riots. Civil disobedience? Of course. And it succeeded

And cmon, saying that anyone wants to see Republicans lying shot on baseball fields is just anger talking, meant to start a fight. ... it's a cheap shot...no pun intended...
It actually sounds like some venomous Russian bot talking.

Everyone needs to calm the **** down.
We're the UNITED states of America.
Aren't we?

Huck, Waters was speaking of civil disobedience. Drafter equating it to inciting a riot is just plain stupid. As is comparing my examples of people who utilized civil disobedience to murderers.

Drafter, great definition of a word she never used in the article you posted. Perhaps you could post a few more meaningless definitions for our entertainment?

BTW you used riot and she used harass. Here is another useful definition.

free·dom of speech
noun
the right to express any opinions without censorship or restraint.

I'm talking about just plain 'ol mental stability.

Ray was kinda mellow, no? Haven't listened for a few years.

I seriously considered getting a red MAGA hat for the golf trip, but I didn't want to buy stuff from China.

He played nothing from his Trouble album.
He actually rocked the house.
His guitarist is quite good. A lot of the stuff reminded me of Pink Floyd.

Not what I expected, but he sounded great.

As for the MAGA hat, you were in Vermont dude.

Frank,
Steve Miller and Peter Frampton are coming to the Pavillion in a couple weeks.
Shannon and I are gonna wait until a couple nights before and then see if tickets are available at the drinking tables.

You and Caren in?

tonight wouldn't be a good time to bring it up...we've come close to making such plans (even simple dinner plans) only to have regrets and doubts at the last minute.

This one sounds good, and we would love to see you. If this does not happen, I still want you to know just getting asked means a lot to us...please remind me in time to get tix anyway, if you can wait.

we rented a house in West Hyannisport close to Craigville Beach 7/14 thru 7/21.
We definitely have to make something happen then fo sho!

With the rhetoric ramping up to epic levels, someone is going to get killed. The Left already tried (see Congressional Baseball game) and quieted down. What with the "Russian collusion" fizzling out, the economy chugging and Trump's approval numbers climbing...of course they decided to ramp it up and double down on the hate.

Just save the YouTube of her rant for afterwards.

Ah the good old days! Remember? Trump telling people at his rallies to punch protesters?
Remember? He'd pay their legal fees if they got arrested? Sweet sweet memories, right?

Or when a Black Lives Matter protester was punched and kicked at one of his rallies and Trump said "maybe he should have been roughed up."?

Hold on there, isn't THAT inciting a riot rhetoric!
But...Trump...
nice memories though...

So now Waters (unfortunately) is taking a similar low road approach saying to 'publically humiliate people affiliated with the Trump WH'.
Yawns. What's that? No blood? Maxine? Oh baby you know what i like! Chantilly lace and a purdy face and a ponytail, a hangin' down..I digress

Ok, so she's asking people to make a scene, even exercize their first amendment right.
Seems like futile news-grabbing bs to me, but ok.
Here's the thing, even if it's dumb, and inciteful, you have to admit, at very least, it worked for his Orangeship.
And it's where we are now. The Melodrama Zone. Hosted by Sean Hannity.

And she didn't even spell it out and say "I'd like to punch them in the face" like the Donboy did.

Waters is wrong for calling for public harassment of our government officials. We shouldn't let Trump's uncivil leadership style taint the entire political process...

Civics and civil come from the same root...
