as it turns out, a lot of the show, but all I saw of DeNiro was the first few seconds of silence as I was finally able to get off the bed.

I was sort of a captive audience laying there with back spasms and a stiff neck, Caren would not relinquish the remote, but the truth is despite never going to musicals, I thought some of the productions were pretty impressive.

Gonna try to get tix for Hamilton in Rhode Island...last show I saw in person was 30 years ago.

(Reread your last paragraph. You literally just did what you accused the "many on the left" of doing. Why would you assume that it was "many" treating the Obama's like royalty, and then say they project all trump supporters as doing the same?)

Notice I very rarely speak in terms of "many" or "all the.." I'm very specific. If I say it looks like tail has Cheeto dust on his lips, it's because I believe he does, not because I believe anyone who says they like something trump did does.

Victor, again, you have missed it, even though I have posted it many times. Republicans are not MY party. I registered Libertarian way back in '96, when I just couldn't bring myself to vote for Bob Dole. I have voted Libertarian in every election since then till '16. Since I am not a registered Republican, I can not vote in the Republican Primary here in NJ, so I had no hand in giving Trump the nomination, nor will I have any hand in choosing their 2020 candidate.

2016 was the first election in 20 years that I voted for a non-Libertarian. To me, Gary Johnson was just a Bernie Sanders lite. If we had run a Ron Paul type candidate, I may have voted for him instead of Trump, but we didn't so it was either Trump or Clinton. As a right leaning Libertarian, the choice was clear. The main stream Republicans did not elect Trump. A number of them are "never Trumpers" and did not support nor vote for him. It was blue collar Democrats and Independents like myself that swung the election to him.

Due to all the whinny, hissy fits and vile hatred coming from the radical left, I, along with a number of these blue collar Democrats and Independents are considering holding our noses and voting Republican in the mid terms. The radical left has no clue how many hard working middle class Americans they have alienated. They'll find out come November.

Fair enough for the last election. But if you've already decided you're not voting Dem or libertarian this time... Why not try to make the party it sounds like you're planning on voting for... Better...?

You're right.
I remember that time that the entire audience at the nationally televised academy awards gave a standing ovation when the famous celebrity said f*ck Obama.

Yup.

Like it was yesterday.

I mean you gotta get real, Al.
This isn't about how many like/dislike the POTUS.
We're a country divided and similar percentage hated Obama.

But we've now got the liberal elite who run the media and hollywood broadcasting their hate.

The right wingers who blasted Obama (albeit on a much smaller scale) in similar fashion to Di Nero's performance were instantly labeled racist, or unstable or nut jobs.
And many/most of them were.

Meanwhile we've got a media machine replete with Samantha Bee's and Robert Di Nero's.
And they get twitter love and standing ovations.

F*ck them.

I didn't vote for him, but I do like a lot of the things that have happened since the election.

The entrepreneurial spirit that has washed over corporate America is awesome. It feels almost like the 80's again with the engines chugging forward with a real incentive to produce. Getting all of the money back onshore that's been parked for 20-25 years is a great thing. The tax cuts are not "crumbs" as Pelosi has stated. They're real and the unemployment numbers setting records are another great sign that the economy has more than an anemic heartbeat limping along on life-support backed by the American taxpayer.

Let them act unhinged. Let them show you who they are. Let them act uncouth and as loud mouthed as they want. The mere fact that Robert De Niro took it upon himself as an actor at the Tony Awards to show his ass only shows how desperate he and the people that stood and clapped are. How little class he has for not only the people that tuned into the awards show but the people receiving the awards too. He chose to make a political statement at an entertainment function. One of the 4 highest pat themselves on the backs awards but still a prestigious and desirable award.

There will be a rude "re-awakening" again when the Blue wave turns into nothing but a vapor. Running on hate is what they accuse Trump of but I'm not seeing it. The spiraling out of control death dive the Left is showing isn't a winnable solution. They went "all-in" with her and got nothing. That didn't work. The accusations aren't working, so now the only thing left are the insults. It's not going to work either. When publications and media tell you that it's been a bad year for Hollywood and Broadway you won't need to scratch your head and wonder why. You already know.

On national TV, during a more important event, watched by a much larger TV audience, someone who represented the values and beliefs of many Americans stood up and interrupted the POTUS and said "You lie!" ... basically a "F* You, in yo face" moment ...

Both sides have their celebrity attack dogs: Nugent, Kid Rock and Miller got a lot of play while Obama was in office...they said their share of inflammatory schtick...and their audiences ate it up...it was kinda hurtful if you supported the POTUS...but c'est la vie...

Fox News TV and Limbaugh's shock con radio still outdraws any other channel, so the hold of the left/liberal elite isn't the tight stranglehold the cons want everyone to believe. You want deep strokes for Trump...thereyago...

Weak examples, but I understand that's the best you could do with such little ammunition.

The congressman who shouted "you lie" was not given a standing ovation, for starters.
And if Di Nero was on the Vue and said F Trump then it's merely a talking point.

He did it on live television during a worldwide presentation.

The fact that you feel compelled to defend him and use poor counter arguments (not your style at all) shows how much of a grip the left in hollywood has on middle America.
Which is why Di Nero is a f*cking loser.

F*ck Di Nero.

hah...me too...charter schools didn't exist back then...only alternative to public schools were Catholic schools and private schools for the elite...

interesting that out of the very bosom of liberal society, the public school system, two staunch, but clear thinking nonetheless, cons emerged...you guys need to go back for more indoctrination...

98.2% of cons went to public schools, but only they could see through the blatant leftist plot.

I attended public school from 1962 through 1976, well before the age of indoctrination. I even remember our class reciting Prayer in Kindergarten and part of 1st Grade, right after the Pledge of Allegiance. We where also allowed to bring our toy guns to school for "show and tell" in Kindergarten. No PC crap, no self worth mumbo jumbo, no participation trophies, no LGBT indoctrination, and no coddling. It's amazing that I can even funtion, eh? Oh, and ah.... no school shootings.
