sometimes it looks like we're at each other's throats, but once you meet someone and get to know him...we good...

this means of communication is so limited...kinda one-dimensional in a 5 dimensional landscape...

but that's half the fun...trying to make yourself clear and understood with these limitations...

Huck, stop apologising to Rick. He has formed an opinion of you and plans to stick with it. Is it really any skin off your back? Then I thought why and found no good reason that mattered to me.

Can we start a new thread titled "That time of the month" so all you pu$$y's can apologize on your own time?

Things get said.
People get angry.
Guys get over it.
Everyone else will dwell on it.

Delta, it's hard to be civil and respectful to others who aren't to you. People tend to take a tribal mentality when everything is argumentative. It becomes us against them. The group here is a microcosm of society in that regard. I believe everyone here is a good person, though we have seen a few in the past that probably weren't. Also, it is easy to be argumentative in an impersonal setting such as this.

Russia is a constant threat to closet communists (pretty much all Democrats) looking to slowly turn the USA into a "socialist paradise." The Russian people, for the most part, are educated enough to know that socialism is not good (70 plus year of oppression can do that), and when they see the USA going down that dark road, they see it as their moral obligation to support those in this country that espouse free market ideas over socialism (also, the USA is getting a little taste of what it's like when outside forces try to influence election outcomes...) No country is flawless, and unfortunately, there are still many people out there who view the world through that Marxist lens of a struggle between oppressors and the oppressed. I believe Putin is aware that many agents of the former Soviet Union and their students are still very actively pursuing the folly and evil that is Marxism, but can only do so much to stop them.

Interesting theory. I disagree though, but I appreciate fresh ideas as opposed to the same old talking points.

I find the premise that Russian people know better than anyone that their system is doomed and ours is superior totally accurate.

But I believe there is a massive flaw in your explanation. It would be impossible for a people (Russian citizens) under wraps as they are, to be able (moral obligation or not) to warn us en mass of the dangers of their system...which by definition restricts their ability to say negative things about Mother Russia at a volume required to be heard by Americans. That part of the theory fails miserably for obvious reasons. You have forgotten that they are not enjoying freedom of speech like us.

And the red highlighted part is too ignorant to correct...but makes me believe that the Russians plan to divide us so as to conquer us is working and you are Exhibit A...how's it feel to be living proof of Russian meddling?

Your statement about most Democrats being closet communists is laughably inaccurate. A much more realistic statement would be that some of the Democrats have socialistic tendencies.

You're a Russian bot, right!?? My first one I think! If I'm right then what you've said makes perfect sense. A shill, maybe?

Ok. Putin orchestrated the election interference, not the well-educated, morally-obligated, kind-hearted masses.
His objective was and remains clear. He wants to disrupt or destroy democracies around the globe and expand the influence of the Russian empire. He's got Iran in his pocket, along with Turkey and Syria. He's on a roll.
He's trying to flip all of them away from the United States, away from the West and into the Russian orbit, not save us from Marxism. This guy's a lot of things but not the world's savior.

Putin purportedly has an 80% approval rating in Russia .They love him and probably should.
Especially the wealthy. Not the 15% that live in poverty.
No other country has seen the creation of millionaires and billionaires like Russia.
But Russia is run just like it was under Stalin, with an iron fist.
And contrary to what you've said, the class disparity in Russia is wider than any other country in the world. And oppression? It never left. Class struggle? Research class division in Russia. You're a bot, right?

Your 'warning' that America is headed down a dark evil road is stolen from Dostoevsky's book Demons, right?

Putin is the grandmaster now. And probably a genius (You can use that)
He is purportedly worth 500 billion. So it's laughable that you think that he has anyone's (!) best interests in mind. Cause he cares only about himself and his inner circle.

The bot thing: if you hadn't mentioned how Americans were getting a taste of our own medicine, I'd have thought, oh, ok, this is just weird!? But this post of yours reads like Russian propaganda.

Lol a Russian bot?! Wow. Ok...so Putin is"authoritarian" and all that, but please remember that the Russian people were subject to a vile and evil ideology that literally killed indiscriminately most of the smartest and brightest people at its inception in the early 20th century...either that or they fled their motherland and many sought refuge in the USA...and you will find that many of the descendants still live here and most of them still have a strong anti-communist view.

Russia did not have a good foundation upon which to build a solid representative government after the fall of communism. Putin, along with those that realized their nation was being raped by inside forces and outside forces, came in and established order. Hopefully they are working towards educating the people, so that they can make good decisions about their future...

The constant struggle between individual rights and social rights...this struggle is playing out in Russia and here on the USA. Russia got there late...but has the dead bodies the provide some insight into what happens when mob really takes over and squashes the individual. The USA has a well established system, however the younger generation of America is falling prey to this incipid ideology, which basically says ENVY is good.

Trumps approach to Russia has been amazing and refreshing. All it takes is some understanding and empathy. But I think both USA and Russia need to work together to fight global jihadism and all other ideologies that seek to destroy the nation state...

The fact is, unfortunately, there are many misconceptions about Russia and almost every story about Russia in the press is negative. It is understandable, but the Russian people are really not that much different than the American people. So I just hope for the best. I love the USA, it gave my grandparents refuge and success in life and the more you put in, the better it can get. I love Russia, it is the BIGGEST...but size doesn't matter😱

Hacking in to our election process and then trying to make the case that our people and Russians should be closer is like someone reading someone elses diary without permission and then arguing that based on that they should now be friends. Simply put, I don't trust Putin's Russia. The Russian people didnt interfer with our election, ex-KGB head Putin did.

Clearly you know a lot about Russia. All I know is what I've read. What I can tell you is I have a lot of respect for the Russian people. I'm a big fan of Russian novels and know that Russians are a deep and very complex people.
My dad was Russian actually. I know a few horror stories but that's about it.
I studied Russian at Brooklyn college. Read Gogol in Russian. Plus I've followed Russian chess since I was a kid...damn, now it sounds like I'm a bot!!

Like I said, I admire Russian resiliency. Under Putin's leadership I don't think pursuing joint ventures with Russia are sensible. I think it's clear that Putin is trying to expand Russia's influence and I don't think they're a good model.

I didn't say that he had YOU fooled, I said I'm surprised that your faith in the American people leads you to think Americans were not fooled...

this given the con narrative that all nations' elections are being messed with, by a lot of other nations, including by the US...and the American public education system is a huge waste of money because its graduates, the American people, don't compare well with those in other countries...
