Joe Cocker - Sheffield Steel

From end to end, probably my most favorite JC album. With Sly & Robbie on drums and bass, the rhythm section is top-notch.

Eric Clapton - The Best and Worst of the Abuse Years 1974-1979

A comp of a few of EC’s alcohol and/or drug fueled performances. Includes slurring, poor guitar playing, swearing, etc. Generally the train wreck that was Eric during those “lost” years. Not sure why I put this together...kinda like rubbernecking to look at the auto accident on the highway.

80F / 76% RH / 16 mph - super humid this afternoon, my shirt was soaked after walking around Waikiki

Last night, on the front patio . . .
Chillin' out with some "slack key" on Spotify, and enjoying an Ave Maria Divinia.

Have they found their own sound yet, or just mimicking Zeppelin again?

One of my first albums.
Found it at school when in the 6th grade. Cover was beat up, but the vinyl was pristine.
Fell in love with a lot of songs, but especially Nobody's Fault. Opening riff is top 5 all time.

Here in the core of the I.T. aisle at CigarBid.com HQ, I'm listening to:

Nightwish - The Greatest Show On Earth.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUPw9Tv42Rw&index=1&list=PLDH9dt31rdM5zn-Eq4vOWonjc51mNUOmu

Just picked up a four-pack of Padron 1926 from the warehouse for a party this weekend. Hope your weekend is as epic.

I don't think they're mimicking them. There's no riff ripoffs. There are songs that sound like Janis Joplin and Big Brother Holding Co and some that sound like early Rush. To my ears they're a welcome addition and I'm glad they're making music like this. Nobody else is.

Mix CD called “Just the Music”

Inspired by the “Golden Age of Underground Radio featuring Tom Donahue”, this has artists mostly from the West Coast, including Quicksilver Messenger Service, the Steve Miller Band and Little Feat. Also threw in some James Gang, Joe Walsh and Youngbloods. Interspersed between groups are ads or announcements by Donahue to give the effect of listening to one of his shows.

SRV - August 26, 1990 - Alpine Valley Music Theater, East Troy, WI

Finally got the nerve to decode the flac files and burn this to disc. Was always painful to know that this would be his very last full performance and always put off listening to his set. SRV later jammed with Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray and Jimmie Vaughan on "Sweet Home Chicago".

Have the same recording. I broke them apart track by track and added the "Sweet Home Chicago" track to it.

Such a waste.

“Tragedy” is the way I’ve always viewed it. But in the short time that we got to enjoy him, he was rather prolific.

Missed my only chance to see them in July 1978 but Little Feat was playing that same night. Jaco came up afterwards and sat in on “Teenage Nervous Breakdown”.
