Hey guys, if you want a Xikar XO (along with a matching Xikar CigarLocker to put it into) for crazy-cheap, check this out:

https://www.cigarbid.com...r-locker-combo/2941244/

The Freefall price goes down to at least $28 sometimes, which is what I got mine for. That's for the XO and the CigarLocker, both. Both with no-proof, no-questions, any-reason, unlimited-replacements LIFETIME WARRANTIES. Getting just an XO for that price is unheard-of cheap!

Also if you want a cheap nice-looking Palio, check out the white Undercrown-logo one here:

https://www.cigarbid.com...dercrown-white/2940899/

That freefalls down to as low as $7.50 sometimes, which is what I got mine for.

Hope this helps someone! I like to share deals when I find them, and since these are CigarBid auctions, there's no forum rule-breaking involved, woohoo!

ADDITIONAL REVIEW-LIKE INFO: Of the items above, I already own a CigarLocker and I like it, it's a very practical and solid option for carrying your cigars, cutter and lighter(s). I also own an XO, and the only downside is that it's pretty thick so you have to eyeball the blades and practice placing them at the right spot on the cigar, because the thick body hinders visibility somewhat. But once you get the hang of it, the XO is great, and the blades move in perfect sync at all times, so no more having one blade do 80% of the cut and the other do 20%. That's the best part of the XO, plus its looks cool as hell and is a very nice piece of kit for your collection. Also, remember again, the best lifetime warranty in the industry, on both items.

Corey (and others), it appears the XO/CigarLocker Freefall is back, have at it!

https://www.cigarbid.com...r-locker-combo/2946660/

It used to start at $65, now it's starting over $90. Not sure how low it goes, but hopefully down to $28 like the last one, if you're patient! I just watched it a few times, and it reset at $32.08, $34.07 and $33.71, if that helps. Those are still EXCELLENT prices though!

A few months ago, I picked up several Palio cutters from here for $4. The new ones (from China) are a mere shadow of the original US manufactured ones. Palio is now in the "throw away" cutter category.

Yup, I'm aware of the switch to Chinese production, and a pal of mine got a couple of them for $2.50 each recently.

Nevertheless, at $2.50, $4 or even $7.50 it's still a good deal on an attractive, sharp and decently long-lasting cutter.

At the usual price of $20-25, not so much. :)

The American made Palio I won here a few years back went about 300 cuts. I thought that was great until I won a couple Xikar X8s. They lasted 600 to 700 cuts each and operate far smoother. I finally got around to printing out the Xikar return form today. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have a couple new (or least sharp) X8s.

The X8 is great. Also try the metal version, the M8. It has MUCH greater "heft" and weight, feels like a more serious cutting instrument, very satisfying feel in the hand, both just holding it and while operating it, much more than the much-lighter X8.

I was used to the X8, and when I first held and operated the M8, it was a "Woah, SWEET!" reaction, honestly.

However, both seem to have the same quality blades, and both seem to make the same quality cuts. And, the X8 has two advantages over the M8: lighter weight makes it easier to carry in some situations (shirt pocket, etc.) and its plastic body is far more resistant to scraping/scratching/friction damage. The metal body of the M8 is much more susceptible to such cosmetic damage from rubbing against other objects/surfaces.*

They both have their roles! Get both, and use whichever one fits the situation better, that's what I do.

Also look at the X875, that thing's awesome. X8 on steroids, super large, but gives highly-precise cuts on smaller cigars too. Love it. No metal version exists yet.

* (For a dynamite scratch/scuff-resistant, go-anywhere duo, try the X8 paired with a Xikar hard-rubber-skinned Stratosphere lighter!)

^I received a package from Xikar today. I sent them 2 X8s for sharpening, and they sent me two brand new X875s. At first I was a little upset that they didn't replace them with X8s, but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. They are larger then I like, and I don't smoke large ring gauges, but they do cut really well.

I've grown to like the X875 better than the X8, and you may, too.

One big advantage is when you have a large ring cigar (like a 60 and up) and it's burning crappily, and you want to cut the cherry and a little behind it clean off, then light up the freshly-exposed face of unburned tobacco and start over. With the X8 it's more difficult to do this, with the X875 it's easy. Much bigger margin for error and better visibility.

You'd think perhaps the X875 would perform worse on smaller cigars than the X8, but nope, it's highly precise and just as good if not better.

Now we just need an M875, a metal version like the M8!

I picked up one of the Palios for $4 (burgundy,... nice). Not in the Xikar category of course, but nice and sharp and looks pretty well built. Will look good on the patio next to the Stinky ashtray.

Of course, only buy things like that on here when I have another order going in already because of shipping, but since I did, I bid.

My favorite accessory buy this month though has been one of the Colibri triple-torch lighters like this one:

https://www.cigarbid.com...terchromeblack/2957662/

Got my Ashton version for $20 and it is definitely sweet. I love the angled-in flames and the built-in cigar cutter works amazingly well. Seems incredibly well built. Heavy, but I like that. These lighters (albeit ones without the advertisement) go for a lot more elsewhere and were one of the top-rated lighters on a very lengthy and comprehensive lighter review I watched on youtube.

You're welcome! I love sniffing out ultra-cheap deals and sharing them, because I'm a cheap ba$tard! Muhahaha!

Also, to everyone who got one of these: you probably noticed already, but in case you did not, the piece of foam that holds the XO in the CigarLocker is removable, and underneath are the three compartments of the standard CigarLocker, which are lined with the special anti-slip foam. So if you don't want to blow the entire tray carrying just the XO, you can remove the foam insert and use three other accessories, just like with the regular version of the CigarLocker.

Versatility is nice!

I paid $65 for my XO w/ aluminum finish with black blades on here on FF. Swore I’d never buy an expensive cutter yet here I am and I’m very glad I have this one, it’s a very nice cutter. Even at $65 I still feel like I stole it.

Last month I got a Xikar X4 cutter for a bid of $5.50. You never know how low some of the bids will be on this site.

Be aware that reliable sources have said that the X4 does NOT have the Xikar warranty. If/when it breaks or goes dull, you're out of luck and have to trash it.

Apparently, these two things indicate warranty coverage:

1. The word "Xikar" appearing on the item itself.
2. The item is (or once was) on the list of products on the xikar.com website.

The X4 doesn't say "Xikar" anywhere on it, and as far as I know, has never been on the list of products on Xikar.com.

Even with no warranty though, it's a nice cutter. Very surprisingly wickedly sharp (at least, when you get it), good ergonomics, works wonderfully. How long it'll hold up, who knows? But for $5.50, it's a GREAT deal.

My favorite Xikar cutter is still the X8. It's a much improved clone of the Palio. Smoother, sharper and lasts far longer. Plus it will cut larger cigars. I grabbed 5 of them from some other place a month or so ago for $7 each. They have Xikar stamped on the blades, so when they eventually get dull, I just send them back for new ones.

Interesting. Mine doesn't say Xikar anywhere on it, and I called "the mothership" and the service rep on the phone said no Xikar warranty.

I agree for $5.50 it's not worth shipping back to Xikar even if it DOES have the warranty, but keep in mind if you live near one of the brick-and-mortars of "the mothership" and it DOES have the warranty, they'll do an instant swap for a brand new one, no paperwork or ID or receipt or hassle, and critically, NO POSTAGE.

I live near several brick-and-mortar "mothership" locations, and I've taken quite a few broken Xikar items to them, and it's instant swap for new ones, no questions asked. Quite nice. I've even gotten multiple replacements of some of them (replacements of replacements), and will keep doing it forever.
